How can Duchess of Cambridge be at Wimbledon after seven days isolation

I’m just wondering how Kate can be at Wimbledon today after being told to isolate last Friday after having contact with someone who has tested positive. The government advice is to isolate for ten days.

My son was contacted two days ago in exactly the same circumstances. Someone he’d been in contact with had tested positive and he has to isolate for ten days.

Surely she should be isolating until early next week. I’m getting sick of one rule for one, and another for us plebs.

It was the app, it probably said 5 days or whatever it is.

The app tells you quite late.

Because when you are contacted and told to isolate its 10 days from your last contact. So if her contact was Monday (for example) and she was contacted on Friday then she would only have to isolate for 6 days…

My dd was in contact with someone in June. Track & trace didn’t ring her until 9 days after she’d been with the person so she only had to SI for a short period of time.

It's isolation for 10 days from the contact. So if her contact was on the Tuesday, but she only found out on Friday, she would be fine to be out today.

I’m sure she’s well within the rules.

The 10 days start from when you last had contact with the positive person. You can be notified several days later.

My DD was sent home from school on the Monday as she was a close contact of a positive person. She last had contact with that person on the Wednesday before. So her isolation was only for 5 days as it had already been 5 days since she was in contact.

Ifitquacks · 10/07/2021 18:34

Because it’s 10 days from your contact with the person who tested positive.

As others have said, it’s 10 days from contact. My sil got a call to isolate last Sunday. She’d not had contact with the ‘positive’ person since the Wednesday. Her isolation period ends today. Technically she’s only isolated 7 days too.

She could be in the exclusive "test every morning for ten days" group that MPs seem to have ...

Thanks so much for explaining that. I’ve never been contacted so I wasn’t aware there could be such a long delay. As you were Kate😜
