And what did you do when you found out on of your household had it?

My dd has it, I've got asthma and am overweight so quite worried. My dp now has a symptom.

We've just been washing hands, sanitising surfaces, opened windows etc

Ive ordered some supplies coming tomorrow but I feel like it's just a waiting game now.

I've only done open windows, wiping down bathroom and touch points and hand washing, nothing more really

WaltzingToWalsingham · 10/07/2021 16:16

Household of five here. Two of DC have had it this month, and me. DC too young to self-isolate in their rooms, so have been roaming the house. DH (double vaccinated with AZ) has escaped so far, as has DS12 (who has been wearing a mask in the house!). DS does regular LFDs for school, and had PCR test last week (as a close contact). All negative, which surprised us. Think he must have had asymptomatic covid previously.

trying29 · 10/07/2021 16:16

My son caught it then we all caught it in the house. Confirmed delta and we were told to expect all to catch it: both adults one dose vaccine

trying29 · 10/07/2021 16:17

We did end up doing two PCR tests each as we as parents and brother initially tested negative and then 3 days later we were all positive

trying29 · 10/07/2021 16:20

Sorry final point - we never tested positive on lateral flows. Which shows how useless they are

CeeceeBloomingdale · 10/07/2021 16:25

I've been told by a medical professional that lateral flows are reallyveffctive at picking up the delta variant. Certainly DCs was very obviously positive and that was 72 hours after exposure.

RuthW · 10/07/2021 16:26

Dd was 23 when she tested positive Christmas eve. We had all the windows open all day and wrapped up warm. I wore a mask all the time. She touched nothing. I got all her food, turned the tv over She didn't stay in her room. We only have on toilet which was cleaned regularly. I didn't get it.

Inastatus · 10/07/2021 16:32

My friend’s DD had it a couple of weeks ago but no one else in the house caught it (2 other DC, my friend and her DH).

StrangeAddiction · 10/07/2021 16:33

Ds2 tested positive last night on a LFT, everyone else tested negative, however dd has now tested positive on a LFT done this afternoon.

Dh, ds1 and I are all double jabbed but dh and I are clinically vulnerable so as the song goes "praying to a god that I don't believe in" that we all get through it quickly and mildly.

StrangeAddiction · 10/07/2021 16:35

I forgot to say, Ds2 woke up Thursday morning with a headache and on Friday had a sore throat and Rhodes are the only symptoms for him. So far dd doesn't have any symptoms.

StrangeAddiction · 10/07/2021 16:35

Those not Rhodes!

Yep! My dd had 4 LF and only one was positive. Crazy how unreliable they are

I had CV19 over Xmas. I didn't infect DMum who lives with us - I was worried as she is 90, but all good!

namechange90832 · 10/07/2021 16:47

Nope. DH had it, we DTD and still I didn't get it! Confirmed by antibody tests for us both.

elp30 · 10/07/2021 16:50

My husband got it at the end of November.
He's a professional photographer and did three different events.

Despite my son and daughter working in retail and me going out to shops, we haven't had it, even when DH had it.

OnceBitten25 · 10/07/2021 16:51

I had it last year. Isolated in my room. My husband and daughter didn't catch it. We had no contact for 8 days and I isolated straight after PCR test.

Lolacat1234 · 10/07/2021 16:55

Yes we all caught it. DP moved to the spare room to isolate and took all precautions but it did precisely nothing and we all caught it.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 10/07/2021 17:00

10 year old got it in April. No one else showed any symptoms. Didn't do anything differently, no isolating from him etc

I've tested positive on an lft caught I think from sitting opposite a friend in a pub, she is also positive both been double vacc. Or we both picked it up from someone in the pub maybe

HelloMissus · 10/07/2021 17:03

My DD didn’t catch it when she shared a bed and water bottle with friend who was positive (though obviously didn’t know it at the time).

Choconuttolata · 10/07/2021 17:05

Yes everyone had it including the kids (alpha variant).

annacondom · 10/07/2021 17:07

Yes. DH got it from me and I think DS had it too although his symptoms were very mild. This was last year before testing for all.

Passionfruitpizza · 10/07/2021 17:10

I don't think so but it was near beginning so less infectious and after positive test he isolated in spare room and was really careful.

Deux · 10/07/2021 17:11

DH has it. His first symptom was saying he felt like he was getting a cold plus he was sneezing a lot. His LFT came up positive immediately.

DCs and me haven’t caught it. He’s been in the bedroom as there’s a bathroom there. If he moves around the house he wears a mask. We haven’t been sitting in a room together.

What I didn’t want to happen was for us all to get it at different times as the last person infected could have been isolating for 3 weeks.

DH is fine and really wasn’t unwell. He’s doing le vaccinated AZ and me with Pfizer.

Figgyboa · 10/07/2021 19:09

My DP and I both had it. We have two nephews that live with us, neither of them got it. My DP and I quarantined in our bedroom for the full 10 days (we have an ensuite), nephews would leave food outside our room. If either of us had to leave the room we would wear a mask and disposable gloves
