I tested positive 22nd June and isolated fir 10 days. Back at work and tested yesterday as per our policy of weekly tests and mine has come back positive. Does this just count as a follow up test? I can’t still be contagious after this long surly.

I think the tests can be positive for some time. Do you have symptoms?

Harrykanesrightsock · 08/07/2021 19:41

No I’m fine

I didn’t think you are supposed to do tests for 30 or 60 days (can’t remember which) after testing positive for this exact reason.

No you don’t need to self isolate again.

Harrykanesrightsock · 08/07/2021 19:42

Ah ok. I didn’t know that. Thank you

you aren't supposed to test for 90 days after testing positive.

Dollywilde · 08/07/2021 19:44

My friend who is a midwife mentioned today she is exempted from tests for 90 days after her first positive because of shedding. She had covid 3 weeks ago and is still showing as positive (she’s in a trial with them because of catching covid after being double jabbed, otherwise she wouldn’t know).

If you are testing weekly for work purposes and without symptoms you should not test again for 90 days following a positive. You should test again within the 90 days if you have any symptoms though
