Quitting news and mumsnet until some sanity returns. Can't wait to ditch the mask. Some of the rabid lockdown loving views on here are frankly scary.

Maybe they are the same poster that flounced off earlier this week and just popped back to try to see if anyone cared this time

@Tealightsandd

The second flounce in a week.

Not quite a pandemic, but it's almost an epidemic.

If we have another two next week we can start to work out how many days it takes to double.

Did the flounder come back? Grin

Flouncer even!

bumblingbovine49 · 10/07/2021 13:25

There is so much anger of here lately. It almost emanates from the screen .

Anger often stems from fear so I suppose it is not surprising but I have a lot more time for people who admit they are scared than those who try to cover it up by getting angry , often at the wrong people. And I know I have a tendency to do the latter but it is not healthy at all .

That displacement anger comes from both sides of the argument btw ( lockdown/ open up, vaccine/ no vaccine etc), it is not all from one side at all.

Sparklingbrook · 10/07/2021 13:46

I am wondering if there's phases you go through with it. I think anger may have been replaced by fatigue. Not in the physical sense, just so weary of the relentlessness of it all. Lack of patience etc.

That's why I think a split of the Covid topic might be appropriate. I don't want to hide the topic but some of the untruths and predictions are not good to be reading.

@Sparklingbrook

Flouncer even!
What a difference a letter makes.

Also, I haven't got my specs on and I read this as "Flouncer Event".

Sparklingbrook · 10/07/2021 14:04

Well they may well have been floundering hence the flounce. 🤷‍♀️

Sparklingbrook · 10/07/2021 14:05

Flouncer Event works too. Grin

DumplingsAndStew · 10/07/2021 14:11

Your posting history suggests you haven't been posting on MN long, and exclusively in the Covid section. Not quite sure that's the best way to avoid your hatred of people speaking about Covid.

And by the way, 1) we're not in a fucking lockdown (unless you work in a nightclub or stripclub, in which case you're locked down as far as being unable to work) and 2) "lockdown lovers" is a shitty and inaccurate insult - noone "loves" lockdowns, just some people aren't as stupid as others.

unwuthering · 10/07/2021 14:37

What a pity! Such a nice name. A quick glance at some of your posts and I see you have specialised in sneering at people taking the pandemic seriously. My favourite of those I saw is this pithy little number, so I will leave it here. It seems apt for this, your final, thread.

"Drama llama"
