Loss of taste and smell

Hi

I’ve tried googling but can’t find the answer.

For those that have had CV19 and have lost their sense of smell and taste, was it gradual or all of a sudden?

I’ve woken up this morning and everything smells and tastes bland, or really weak. I’ve lit a candle and can only just about smell it.
I have no other symptoms.

Thanks.

Mine was gradual over a few days, then complete loss for 7 days then gradual return over a week or so.

Have you been tested? My partner didn't lose his it was just dulled. Another friend had no symptoms of covid at all but realised one morning her coffee didn't taste of anything.

Not been tested, no. I’ve only just noticed, and funnily enough it’s my coffee that tastes of nothing too.

Will book a test ASAP.

Thank you

A friend of mine has completely lost her sense of taste and smell since she tested positive for Covid in October.Sad

It just went but was quite a late symptom- I had cold symptoms first. Smell went and taste was less. It was back within a few days.

Mine was gradual and was only gone a few days. It started a few days after a really mild cough. I realised it was totally gone when I had a stuffy nose and put some vicks on but couldn't smell it. I didn't lose my taste completely, it was juat dulled

It’s really weird. My tongue can’t taste anything but it seems like my throat can, so I just get an aftertaste. Covid test booked for 10am.
Thanks for your replies
