My friend has just texted us to tell us she’s tested posted (not ill, no symptoms, next door neighbour was ill, so she got tested)
We last saw them 10 days ago, we’re due to go to a small gathering tomorrow. Do we need to isolate too if we saw them 10 days ago?

No, you don't.

No. You isolate if you saw them in the 2 days before symptoms started or 2 days before the test date if no symptoms

But…if they’ve tested positive, could we have caught it off them but had no symptoms? Should we be going out to a gathering 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you hadn't seen them for 10 days then they wouldn't have been positive at that point so they couldn't have given it to you.

You could do a lateral flow test.
