And also done a lateral flow test around the same time. Was the LFT positive or negative?

Just looking for a straw poll on this. I have a temperature, sore throat and headache. Negative LFT, off for a PCR this morning. I know we are not meant to rely on the lateral flow tests but hopefully a good sign at least.

LFT negative PCR positive, tests done on the same day. Actually if you look at the LFT in a very specific light you can just about make out the light grey watermark. It’s not positive by any means though!

Negative LFT in the morning, PCR test an hour later came back positive.
LFT the following day was positive.

Oh dear - so far not very good news. Is there much point to the LFTs?

LFTs detect between 40 and 70% of positive cases depending on which study you look at. I think the higher the viral load the better they are.

It's around 50/50 in the many cases in my local area. In 2 cases the first PCR was negative, PCR repeated on days 3-5 of symptoms and then a positive result was received.
PHE has told our headteacher that they think there's a link with Delta cases and initial false negatives on LFT and PCR. Our small primary is currently closed due to dozens of cases, I think hampered by children initially getting negative results so they didn't isolate.

I took a lateral flow test that was negative after husband tested positive (I didn't have any symptoms). Out of curiosity he also took a lateral flow test (day after the swab, same day as result) and it came back negative. This is in part why I gave up doing them!

That’s pretty worrying

Tested positive a week ago. Positive on (2) LFT which was confirmed by PCR.
