Hi,
Posting to see if anyone here has experienced the same as me? If so, please read on and join me and others on a FB group i have set up for support.
I had my first jab about 1 month ago, fully expecting to have 'Covid arm' and to feel generally rotten for a few days. I had all that but what I wasn't expecting was to have severe pains in my upper arm and shoulder - this unexpected pain started from about 36 hours after the jab.
This was excruciating, sharp 10/10 nerve type (?) pain, off the scale, anytime I moved, it made me yell out in pain, I wasn't able to drive, get dressed, use a knife and fork, work, or really move my arm or shoulder at all. Painkillers didn't touch it. Even walking along would set it off. This initial level of pain lasted about 2 weeks and I am now thankfully in a lot less pain, but still in pain. My mobility in that arm and shoulder is awful. Can't lift my arm to the side above 90 degrees. I have all the symptoms of a frozen shoulder which apparently can take 1 - 3 years to get better....This 'side effect' was not listed anywhere so i had no idea what was going on. Even worried at one point i was having a heart attack what with all the left arm pain and across my chest pains.
The first GP i saw was fairly dismissive, I asked around on FB and eventually found that one of my other mum friends, where I live had also had the same experience, but hers was 6 months ago (she'd been injected too high in the arm by a rookie volunteer vaccinator right at the start of the roll out). I also saw a chiropractor who was of the opinion the needle may have gone too close to a nerve and/or aggravated my shoulder joint. Second GP I saw was more helpful but has said to come back at the 6 week mark when he would be able to refer me on to see MSK / shoulder specialist / physio. So I'm still waiting for that.
In the meantime, i've been upset, confused and in a lot of pain, lots of disruption to daily activities, unable to do much with the kids. Total nightmare in short. My only place to go was online, where I found after much searching, that there were plenty of others who'd had almost identical experiences post vaccination jab (not always the covid jab either). There was no one place to go - just a couple of forums, one on Piston Heads and one on Scope - so take a look at those too if you search for SIRVA you should find them.
I got in touch with one of the sufferers and together we formed a Facebook support page which has helped enormously for me to piece together what has happened to me. NB This group is NOT anti-vacc whatsoever (we all willingly went for the jab!) it's just a place to share info, provide support etc. We are hoping to be able to raise awareness and to stop this happening to others too.
We think that most of us on there are sufferers of SIRVA (Shoulder Injury Resulting from Vaccine Administration) This seems to be rare and largely unheard of amongst the various health professionals we've all been to see. But it does exist and we are all suffering! It's much more recognised in US and Canada. It's also much more common in women.
The FB page (a private page) i'm not sure if i'm allowed to share links on here but it's called Vaccine administration injury SIRVA support UK so please search us up if you have had any similar issues.
