No Covid test result after 36 hours - what’s your experience been recently?

Basically that. Took DC with high temp for test early on Sunday morning. No result so far and worrying whether it’s lost as previous results over last few months only taken 24 hours. Both kids off school and me and DP working from home so would like to stop isolating if DC is negative!

What are peoples experiences of timescale for test turnaround this week? We’re in a London borough. Thanks!

DD's was about 36 hours - test 5pm ish on Tuesday, email came through about 2am Thursday with follow up text message about 7.15am. We're in the Midlands if it matters.

Every test we've had the results have come through as a 2am ish email and follow up text about 7.15 am so I'd expect yours missed being processed on Sunday and are being processed today so if I was you I'd expect to hear overnight tonight/first thing tomorrow morning.

Hope your DD is ok.

I’ve taken 4 tests at various points over the last year and they’ve all taken at least 3 days to come back. The latest was a postal test that I sent back on Friday afternoon, and still waiting for the result. Luckily it was just one done as part of the ZOE app trial so I’m not isolating until the results come back, I’d be really annoyed if I was.

14 hours for us yesterday!! X

Hangingtrousers · 05/07/2021 22:40

Call them.
One time it took that long I called and they hadn't registered the test correctly at the test centre. They registered it on the phone and the result came through instantly.

Mumofboys1 · 05/07/2021 22:41

Same as @SquigglePigs, we tested 9am, email results at 2am, text message just gone 7am- we are also the Midlands. Hope you get your results soon!

seepingweeping · 05/07/2021 22:43

I had one that took 5 days. It was a home test I had to phone to register because online registration wasn't working. Anyway, phoned after 5 days to see that they hadn't registered it properly.

Phone them.

prediction500 · 05/07/2021 22:43

Call them. Most recent result was 11 hours. Previously I'd not heard after 36 hours and when I called it was because the result wasn't registered properly. They linked it up and emailed the result within minutes

Vanityfairest · 05/07/2021 22:49

I got my DD tested at 2:30pm and got results at 11am next morning. Did you get the receipt with a barcode? I was told to call that if we didn’t have results after 3 days.

Punxsutawney · 05/07/2021 22:55

I'm on just over 36 hours too, was a walk in test centre in the South West. Was told to phone if heard nothing after 72 hours. I think I will phone in the morning to find out if it is registered.

Would also like to stop isolating if not needed.

fionnthedog · 05/07/2021 23:17

Thanks everyone. Still no result so will call in the morning to check there’s not a problem.

@fionnthedog the phone line opens at 7am, if you want to try ringing early. I called at 11 and it had just closed.

Winnithegreat · 05/07/2021 23:20

For us it has been 20 hours on 2 occasions in the past 2 weeks (test at 8PM, result at 4PM; then a test at 11AM with result at 7AM). They told us to call if no result within 48 hours.

PerhapsCarriageGreen · 06/07/2021 00:01

DD's flat mats claims to have had her negative result 2 hours after her test. None of her flat mates believe her of course but she has not told the family she nannies for, that she should be isolating! Angry

Punxsutawney · 06/07/2021 00:11

Well mine has actually just come through, it's negative. Interestingly, I'm coughing more now than when I did the test. Having been ill in bed most of the weekend, there is definitely some other unpleasant bugs in circulation.

fionnthedog · 06/07/2021 06:50

Ours also came through overnight negative. So took 40 hours overall. DP has already left for work Grin

Glad you got good news!

FergoMcFergFace · 06/07/2021 20:48

It took about 30 hours for my son's to come through - only to let us know they'd been unable to read the test sample. So frustrating! He only had one as his bubble at school has been sent home.
