Close contact positive. Any ideas when I'll be contacted?

Someone I work closely with and was sharing a desk with on Friday has tested positive yesterday. I haven't heard anything yet. How long does T and T normally take and do they ever just miss people? I have a busy week ahead and really need to plan meetings etc.

If you know you are a close contact of a positive and ,at the time, infectious case then you should isolate anyway.

I agree but my manager isn't quite so sure!

You might not be contacted if your colleague has opted out of providing their contacts. This happened to a friend of mine. Probably a good idea to do a LFT if you have one or go for a PCR.

If you’re fully vaccinated or part vaccinated the symptoms of Covid reported are quite different. There’s a list on the Covid/Zoe Study site/app.

If your colleague names you as a positive - you will get a text straight away followed by a call that should be within 24 hrs

T&T aren’t mind-readers and need your colleague to name you.
Have you asked your colleague if they have?

I know one person who was contacted on Friday just gone to say they had to isolate after visiting a restaurant the previous Saturday, so 6 days. A positive employee called work this morning and claimed T&T phoned him but only asked if he had symptoms, not about any contacts 🙄. They could be lying but now no other colleagues have to isolate.. we have LFT's on site so tested everyone this morning.
