I bet she's over the bloody moon

She can slob about, watch telly all day, not brush her hair if she can't be arsed

@lynsey91

So she has been in contact with someone who tested positive for covid but anyone she has been in contact with doesn't have to isolate because she has not tested positive!

I thought we all knew that you can pass it on without showing as positive and/or that it can take a while to show as a positive test.

It's a joke

Are you in England? That's always been the rule.

Only close contacts isolate, not the rest of the household/bubble.
No one would ever get anything done if you have to isolate for being a contact of a contact as well!

Bearing in mind she is also vaccinated now the risk is reduced quite a lot.

Yeah but if it was contacts of contacts this would just be everyone…? What about contacts of contacts of contacts…? And we all just go into lockdown..? Contacts of contacts would effectively mean a case in a school would shut the whole school not just the bubble.

And suppose (unlikely given the fact that her “contact” was probably outside and she’s had 2 jabs) she gets it asymptomatically, she isn’t contagious the instant she came across Covid.. it takes time to develop. So she would only be contagious a few day- weeks later so if you did want William and her children to isolate, they’d need to themselves isolate for like 3-4 weeks.

Lucky girl. She's free to catch up on housework, enjoy her time with the children and watch all the tennis and football. Seriously though, hope she's ok.

BarefootHippieChick · 05/07/2021 19:00

@ThePearlOfDumbarton

I'm delighted for her!

I recommend The Serpent on Netflix.

Me too, although she might prefer The Crown

BalloonSlayer · 05/07/2021 19:01

I wondered if she was pregnant too. She has cut quite a bit off her hair which she normally seems to do in early pregnancy (for unpleasant reasons I suspect, poor woman).

CanICelebrate · 05/07/2021 21:34

I can’t believe people still don’t understand the rules!!! The rule for Kate is exactly the same as the rule for anyone else.

My teenage son isolated for the whole of last week because his friend had Covid. The rest of us (including another teenage son at the same school) carried on as normal. This has always been the case.
If my son had symptoms or a posting we result then we would all isolate.

MaryGubbins · 05/07/2021 21:39

To be fair there was a period in Scotland where whole households had to isolate if one person was a contact.

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 05/07/2021 21:45

Well, I don't think we ought to be overly-worried. I mean, it's not as if she has to arrange for children to be picked up from school, cover at work or any of the other 1837363930 things the rest of us have to do if we isolate.

She will probs love being able to avoid mixing among the plebs and feigning interest while grinning.

TheKeatingFive · 05/07/2021 21:48

She's free to catch up on housework

😂 😂 😂

Tinysalmonswimminginastream · 05/07/2021 21:50

To be fair, when I had to isolate because of close contact but no one else in my house did it was bloody brilliant! Kids still went to school, DH had to do all the school and club runs, shopping etc, I couldn't 'pop out' to do anything, just had to 'stay home' Grin

Starlightstarbright1 · 05/07/2021 21:53

@BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz

How can we be over a year down the line and people still dont understand who has to isolate and who doesnt?
I thought exactly the same
AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 05/07/2021 21:53

Do you think I ought to text her in case she doesn't know that Iceland do same-day delivery if you are really lucky?

TheKeatingFive · 05/07/2021 21:56

Do you think I ought to text her in case she doesn't know that Iceland do same-day delivery if you are really lucky?

Absolutely, she may not know that 😆

Maryann1975 · 05/07/2021 22:17

@lynsey91 Certainly if DH were to be told to isolate I would isolate too. I don't work so it would be easy enough but surely is the sensible thing to do?
Yep, I can tell you don’t work by that comment. Dh has recently had a warning that he is having to fight because he has had 3 individual days off for COVID. Employers are generally not all that willing for their staff to isolate if they don’t have to and many families can not afford to isolate if they are not being paid. I’m self employed, but my clients are not overly happy with me taking short notice days or weeks off so I’d rather keep them to a minimum so they don’t go elsewhere. The governments track and trace payments for low incomes are quite simply not enough and do not cover enough families by a long shot.

If you are in a position to isolate when you don’t actually have to, you are extremely fortunate.

WinnieTheW0rm · 05/07/2021 22:21

Or The Windsors ?

If she decided to go back to the beginning again, I think it'd be so that the DC had each other, a bigger team. More support for the heir, more than one spare so the spare never felt too spare. But can't imagine she'd really want another.
BarefootHippieChick · 05/07/2021 22:47

Or The Windsors ?

Oh yes, a very good choice indeed

ineedaholidaynow · 05/07/2021 23:18

Those who don't know the rules yet, only have a couple of weeks to learn them, as they may all change after the 19th!

WaltzingBetty · 06/07/2021 05:27

Certainly if DH were to be told to isolate I would isolate too. I don't work so it would be easy enough but surely is the sensible thing to do?

Translation: I don't understand the rules but would willingly apply them excessively and judge other people who don't follow my excessive application of the rules because of trivial things like work and income-generation

That's nice Hmm

Well to be honest, I’d have to check. I haven’t had to isolate and neither has anyone I’ve known for ages. So yeah, I’d have to look the specifics up to see what the current state of play is. I don’t think it makes me a terrible person or somehow ignorant of covid, just not recently affected Hmm
PicnicGallore · 06/07/2021 07:46

I hope she's up the duff. Smile

I have not had any need to know the stupid rules. I don't know anyone who has been told to isolate so why would I know?

If DH were told to isolate it seems only sensible for me to do so as well and vice versa but then the rules seem pretty stupid on the whole

lynsey91 · 06/07/2021 08:14

Yes how sensible to bring MORE children into the overpopulated world when they already have 3 which is more than enough

Oh yes unbelievable. Why the hell would I know when I have had no need to?

Maybe I have had other things on my mind like both my parents dying of covid but obviously I am just thick
