My eldest dc has had a temp and still does of 40, cough, sore throat, very tired so we have all been isolating until pcr test came back. We had it done yest morning and its come back negative. Can my other dc go to school today? In theory I think they can but is it the right thing to do considering he's so ill?

I think you're right. Your other DC can.

Do you think the PCR test was done properly? I only ask because I did one for both DC yesterday and no way did they let me do it properly. They have no symptoms so I'm not worried (council asked us to all test after a bubble burst).

GnomeyGnome · 05/07/2021 06:21

Yes, negative test means none of you need to isolate any longer. Keep unwell child off of school if they are too poorly to be there but the others can go in if they are fine.

DC is 14 and my dh supervised do definitely did it properly. His cough now sounds chesty so I'm wondering if he has a chest infection

Thanks for replying, I thought it was the case but I don't want to put anyone at risk

I don’t think school would consider you had a good reason to keep the siblings off if your eldest DC’s PCR is negative. Really hope they’re feeling better soon. Is the fever coming down with Calpol/Nurofen?

PandemicPalava · 05/07/2021 06:26

Yes absolutely they can go.

I'd give the GP a ring. As you say it might be an infection.

Remmy123 · 05/07/2021 07:04

Why wouid you keep a sibling off of his brother / sister do not have covid?

Weird

Imnothereforthedrama · 05/07/2021 07:29

Yes of course it’s negative it’s obviously not Covid but another virus .
