How long from positive close contact to your own positive?

My DH has been informed he has to SI as was in close contact with a friend who has since tested positive (asymptomatic). He will of course SI and will do a LF every day during the 10 days.

If you have been in the same situation and subsequently tested positive yourself, how long after you were in close contact did you get symptoms/test positive? Thanks

Me : 2 days

Daughter caught it from me after 8 days

Everyone seems different 😬

He's had both jabs (as of a month or so ago). But then so has the person that is positive...

I'm hoping and praying he doesn't go on to be positive...my DC will miss their end of school leavers celebrations if so 😭

DS tested positive 8 days after contact.
We are now 8 days on from that and the rest of the household are still testing negative.
2 days to go 🤞🏼

Sorry forgot to say DS is 14 so no vaccination. DH has had 1 and I’ve had 2, other DS has had none

Couple of days. DH tested positive. Followed by me. Then couple of days later DS.

We’re just about over it now, 2 weeks later.

It's been speeding around DD's uni. Dd and many friends think that the incubation was no more than a couple of days, so much quicker than the original variant. It's all speculation though.

AubergineParmigiana · 05/07/2021 12:39

@Etsylicious thanks. Had you had both/1/0 jabs?

My son (and me) tested positive 7 days after his close contact at after school club.

HoundLand · 05/07/2021 14:45

I've been a close contact several times and never tested positive. One of my colleagues who'd been in close contact with the same colleague as me developed symptoms on day 10 but just lost her sense of smell, this was pre vaccines. Basically it's different for everyone.

@AubergineParmigiana 1 vaccine each - except DS who is 4, he hasn’t had a vaccine…
