How long are postal Covid test results currently taking?

Posted tests 3pm Friday. Really need to return to work tomorrow and DC to school as they are missing out on end of year - especially DC1 as it's their last year of primary!

DC2 had symptoms on Thursday, so sent away for PCR tests for all of us. Have since improved. Did a lateral flow test today and it came up negative. Holding on to hope we get negative result today or early hours of tomorrow.

Test results back at 8. Both DC negative. Thinking mine will be too as it was DC2 who had symptoms.

This seems to be a posting before the weekend problem! Mine were posted Friday afternoon, tracking says they were delivered Friday evening but still no sign of a result! I am also a keyworker but doesn't look like results for keyworkers are prioritised, only appointments

We went for another test yesterday as I was certain the postal one was lost. Got that result this morning, so back to work and nursery but still no sign of the postal result.

Grrrr just called the covid line, spent ages going through the options to chase a test result and they say sorry, too busy to check, please hang up

Going to be trying 119 shortly myself as my daughter also had a test Friday like you and still no results. Not looking hopeful is it!

I posted mine on Friday afternoon, still waiting. I’ve tried to call 119 a couple of times but there is a message saying that they are experiencing a high volume of calls and cannot connect me to someone to chase results.

Oops,just re read the postal instructions and it says to ring on day 5 if you haven't heard. Not day 3

After posting here a few minutes ago, my results came through! So that was 71 hours from the post box collection time.

The secretary where I work told me not to wait for a postal test as they take ages. We went an hour after I came home from work on Friday lunchtime.. Mum got her result at 5.15pm I had to wait till 9.15 for mine!! Both clear but we have got a viral infection as I had to call an ambulance for Mum at half seven this morning!

That should have said we went on Friday lunchtime and got our results Saturday afternoon /night!

We did eventually get though to 119 and found out our daughters test had been processed (and was negative thankfully) but they weren't sure why we didn't get the message! So definitely worth chasing.

We had to call 119 about 5 times before we stopped getting the "we are very busy and unable to look into individual test results" message so persevere. I think we could have still been sitting here isolating had we not checked.

I posted mine at 14:50pm today. I did mess up last time being in such a hurry to get to the priority box in time I forgot to register the damn thing... I chased up the result via 119 four days later and realised my mistake. Result came through within two minutes... I definitely registered this one!

Got through to 119 this morning to be told that they seem to have lost my test!

4hrs later I magically got sent a negative result.

I did my latest PCR test this morning, dropped it in the postbox just after 10am, an hour later I got a text alert telling me it was negative! So about an hour! I am really beginning to wonder what is going on??

Sorry, that doesn’t help those who are SI but I have to get a test for my DC and wondering which to go for.
