How likely is it that this will happen? Panicking slightly as I’m one of those who’s first vaccine was from one of these batch numbers & I travel to the EU for work a lot never mind seeing my family overseas in the EU Sad

I would say fair enough, but lately I am questioning the MHRA and JCVI and other so called independent agency.
So, imo, the more agencies say fine, the more relaxed I will be. Just MHRA saying is not good enough.
Btw - is the detailed inspection report a public thing? don't google, I can do that, just if you know.[/quote]
The report itself isn’t but the GMP certification is. Go to CMS.MHRA.gov.uk/GMP. Select GMPC and Non-compliance (so you can see non-compliant reports too) and then the recent SII certificate is there in the list. Sorry on phone and separate computer at moment.

I don’t have any concerns about the MHRA’s independence.

The batch number is recorded on the nhs app for travel for each vaccine so it could be an issue if countries haven’t already dismissed it

lljkk · 02/07/2021 11:59

Won't a lot of us have vaccs from different manufacturers?
My first one says number PW40010. I can't figure out where that was made.
Who knows where next one will come from.

If they did this, I am willing to put money on the UK government amending the app.

If this then caused issues, I'm willing to put money on a big diplomatic row.

And potentially legal cases.

Remember nation states have the soverignty on this. Ultimately not the EMA and not the EU.

Germany and Spain are happy. France has other fish to fry (sic), and frankly I don't think its worth the hassle of them deciding this is a hill to die on to make a point. Italy will ultimately suck up what Germany and France decide.

There are ultimately bigger concerns on international covid cooperation.

If you make a big stink on this one, especially with regard to the UK, then you effectively start to undermine the principles of international covid cooperation and of WHO itself too. I don't think France (or anyone else) really is going to want to go down that route. It politically could very much backfire and undermine the speed / effectiveness of global vaccination programme.

I mean taking AZ to court hasn't exactly done much for the EU (which was always going to be the case) apart from some internal optics. They lost.

Crucially there's nothing to be gained on the domestic EU politics on this one and nothing to be gained on international diplomacy either. Hence why it will be a none issue for UK citizens

The batches affected are 41202001, 41202002 and 41202003.

If your batch number is different to these (its a completely different numbering system) you aren't affected by this

It will be mainly people who had AZ in March and very Early April. The bulk of those affects are going to be people in their 50s.

Where in the app is it please?

I wanst given a card or anything when I had jabs

Watapalava · 02/07/2021 12:19

In the app under travel pass

When you expand on each vaccine it lists name and batch but they’re fine

Watapalava · 02/07/2021 12:20

It’s on mine from March and I’m mid 40

I’m going Spain two weeks and it’s fine

Flaxmeadow · 02/07/2021 12:23

In the app under travel pass

Thanks but I can't see anything that says travel pass. I'm maybe looking at wrong app

Which app is it?

Watapalava · 02/07/2021 12:31

The nhs app for prescriptions

Not the tracks me trace version
