The batch number is recorded on the nhs app for travel for each vaccine so it could be an issue if countries haven’t already dismissed it
If they did this, I am willing to put money on the UK government amending the app.
If this then caused issues, I'm willing to put money on a big diplomatic row.
And potentially legal cases.
Remember nation states have the soverignty on this. Ultimately not the EMA and not the EU.
Germany and Spain are happy. France has other fish to fry (sic), and frankly I don't think its worth the hassle of them deciding this is a hill to die on to make a point. Italy will ultimately suck up what Germany and France decide.
There are ultimately bigger concerns on international covid cooperation.
If you make a big stink on this one, especially with regard to the UK, then you effectively start to undermine the principles of international covid cooperation and of WHO itself too. I don't think France (or anyone else) really is going to want to go down that route. It politically could very much backfire and undermine the speed / effectiveness of global vaccination programme.
I mean taking AZ to court hasn't exactly done much for the EU (which was always going to be the case) apart from some internal optics. They lost.
Crucially there's nothing to be gained on the domestic EU politics on this one and nothing to be gained on international diplomacy either. Hence why it will be a none issue for UK citizens
