‘News’ without links or sources is just gossip, surely?!

PurpleDaisies · 01/07/2021 17:15

@Twistered

NHS staff meetings have been informed this afternoon
According you your high level friend who works in the NHS? Hmm
Temp023 · 01/07/2021 17:15

I have hay fever, I am not testing for bloody Covid.

I am so over this now!

NHS staff should have been aware of an unofficial (as in the trio needed for PCR testing) much longer list of common symptoms for a very long time.

I left my Trust in March and we weren’t allowed to attend without a negative PCR for symptoms of any respiratory illness including bog standard colds or beginnings of hay fever since last summer.

"According you your high level friend who works in the NHS?"

What are you talking about??

Even if it was official who’s going to make you? Just don’t get a test if you feel that strongly about it.

This is always what people with a vague “source” for some new information say.

There has been no official announcement.

There may well be soon but your posts are totally misleading and you should get the thread edited or deleted to reflect that.

WhenZoomWasJustAnIceLolly · 01/07/2021 17:20

We have been told by school that we now need to test for cold symptoms but that we are not required to self isolate for those symptoms

WingingItSince1973 · 01/07/2021 17:21

Man alive there's some tetchy people on here today!

Twistered · 01/07/2021 17:21

they are not misleading. There were a series of meetings today and those are the symptoms that staff have been told are symptoms.
How is that misleading? You get the thread deleted yourself , I'm happy enough :-)

According to you.
Cornettoninja · 01/07/2021 17:24

@Twistered you’ve just implied that people can now access PCR tests on demand for different symptoms!

Twistered · 01/07/2021 17:24

yes PurpleDaisies according to me lol. Who else according to fgs. I don't have a link or proof for you dear. I am merely worried for hayfever sufferers being made to isolate and stay off or not be allowed into certain places because they are sniffing etc.

You don’t need to worry about that because the official list of covid symptoms HASN’T been updated.

People should not post misinformation.

PurpleDaisies · 01/07/2021 17:27

Look what the NHS says.

Update on Delta
HalfwomanHalfcookie · 01/07/2021 17:32

Sorry, not official. I meant those symptoms of covid are correct as ds has them and not the 3 official classic symptoms.

Bluntness100 · 01/07/2021 17:34

There’s been a series of high level nhs meetings to discuss runny noses ans sore throats? 😃

Bluntness100 · 01/07/2021 17:38

You don’t actually work for the nhs op. So who you hearing this from?

PurpleDaisies · 01/07/2021 17:39

High level friend. Wink
HalfwomanHalfcookie · 01/07/2021 17:45

Why are so many taking the piss?
Ok, we have agreed that there is no official changes in the guidance for covid testing. There are however people testing positive for covid with classic cold like symptoms, my son being one of them. If he wasn't testing regularly with lateral flow tests it wouldn't have been picked up. He would have just dosed himself up and gone to work.

OliveTree75 · 01/07/2021 17:45

I agree the list does need updating. I had a runny nose and loss of smell only when I had it and my DS had a sore throat only. We are convinced it is doing the rounds at work (primary school) as we have lots of tummy upsets, sore throats etc and a teacher just tested positive (again with no classic symptoms) We can't ask them to be tested based on those symptoms. My DS best friend has it now and his parents have only had hay fever symptoms

PurpleDaisies · 01/07/2021 17:47

@HalfwomanHalfcookie the op hasn’t actually accepted that she was wrong to say the list of symptoms has officially been changed. All she has said is she has no link or proof of her claim. Her misleading posts are still there.

Same. Me and DD have had it really badly this year, for months on end it feels like. If we tested every time we had runny noses and scratchy throats we'd never have time to do anything else!
HalfwomanHalfcookie · 01/07/2021 17:53

Fair enough PurpleDaisies

Quartz2208 · 01/07/2021 20:44

Isnt this a good thing. Doesnt this now sound like a cold?
