Lateral flow test request for interview

56 replies

Zig27 · 01/07/2021 07:54

I have been invited to an interview in a school where they have said in the invite 'if you could kindly do a lateral flow test the night before your interview that will much be appreciated'. For personal reasons I don't do lateral flow tests but I will wear a mask.

I don’t want to get into the whole argument of doing the test etc. Can they refuse me to do the interview? I'm already feeling pressured and have not been asked to do this at other places.

If you can't do a lft (even if nose only) then I'd suggest getting some help and support in learning how to overcome thism

LFT's/PCR's are likely here to stay for now. It you refuse, then any job that isn't purely from home may become problematic, socialising may become difficult, holidays difficult. Essentially you'll be cutting yourself off from a lot of society if things continue to move to requiring LFTs.

@Elverybaby

There are saliva antigen tests as effective as the swabs but much less invasive, just spit into a tube.
Do you know where you can get these from? Thanks.

I don’t know what you’re referring to by “bullying” Confused

You have posted plenty of times before and many posters have recommended you seek support for your anxiety.

All these tests cannot be enforced, forcing a medical test on you against your consent goes is illegal. This Government however like to make it look like it compulsory, well it is not. These tests are unreliable, so much so kids in my dc school know exactly what to do to get a positive test and stay off school!

My DH generally works from home but is required to take a lateral flow test on the days he decides to go to the office. So unless you can find a job that is fully from home you may struggle to always get around the testing .
