Have you had a +PCR after a -PCR?

Hi,

I started showing symptoms on Saturday, LFT was negative and PCR was negative.

Symptoms have become progressively worse to the point where I'm incredibly breathless (being 33 weeks pregnant doesn't help!)

I did an LFT and got a negative (attached pic)

I want to go for another PCR but DH is going ballistic and calling me a hypochondriac.

Of course other illnesses exist, I know that. But I'm in an area where cases have rose by 80% and I've got the following symptoms:

Sore throat
Temperature (does come down with paracetamol)
Chesty cough
Snot
Upset stomach
No taste or smell

We've got a little caravan holiday booked for Monday so I can see why DH is upset as I got a negative result on Sunday but the symptoms are much worse now

Any replies I really appreciate. I have health anxiety and I've had many complications in this pregnancy so that's probably making me more scared of covid than the normal rational version of me would be

Good luck, you're doing the right thing having another test. I hope your partner calms down, he needs to support you not go ballistic.

MilkCereal · 30/06/2021 19:07

That's a positive

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 30/06/2021 19:08

I think that LFT might be positive too.

You haven’t done anything wrong here, OP. You’ve done all the tests you should have done and you explained to the midwife and let her make a judgement about whether she was happy to see you.

Any update OP?

My son arrived home form Uni with covid symptoms on the sunday, did a PCR test on the monday and it was negative. He continued to isolate fortunately as he was convinced her had covid and found out others he had been with on the saturday were all testing positive. He went for another PCR test on the friday which came back positive.

Daisy829 · 10/07/2021 00:22

@Babyroobs I know a couple of people this has happened too. First PCR negative then a few days later positive.

I thought he was being a hypochondiac also but when the positive test came back I was so relieved he had continued to isolate. My dh is cev on immunosuppressants. He had symptoms for five days and really was quite ill before he got the positive test. This is also the second time he is confirmed as having it.

It’s crazy. Definitely not a fool proof system.

nopatience00 · 12/07/2021 17:21

How are you feeling OP?

TiddleTaddleTat · 12/07/2021 17:27

Interested to read this as both DD and DH have been unwell with the same symptoms you describe but repeated negative LFTs and DHs PCR was negative. He's just done another on Sat and waiting for results. Today I'm starting to feel under th weather .
Agree the LFT there looks like it could be positive. I'm learning that a positive can have a very faint line on those.
