Red rash around the injection site after second AZ jab

Anyone else?
I had the usual reaction to the first, was unwell for 24 hours. Wasn't bothered about the second as it seemed to be the first jab that caused problems. I had it yesterday evening and all was fine. Today my arm felt a bit tender and a bit sore to lift it up. I didn't think much of it. I've just caught sight of it in the mirror and it's slightly swollen with a red rash of 3 inches diameter and very warm when I hold my hand over it. I'm worried I might have an infection - or is this just another side effect?

Hi,
I had a similar reaction after my first AZ jab, mine ended up being about 5inches in diameter and very swollen, red and raised. GP advised it is an uncommon reaction called 'COVID arm' which you will see lots of pics of if you Google. It is harmless, but a bit annoying as I ended up looking a bit like lopsided Popeye Grin Mine lasted about three weeks, just gradually faded.

I have my second shot in a few weeks, wondering if I'll get it again.

@SnuggledUpInABlanket thank you, I literally only have one tit, as had breast cancer nine years ago .. and I am a bit of a wonder Wink

My arm was similar after the first AZ.
It had a definite ring around it, which was achey and itchy.
It lasted about a week then gradually faded.
