How long are PCR's taking now?

Just that really?

We last had one before the Indian variant reached our area and got the results back in less than 12 hours which was amazing.

DS was sent home from nursery and has had a constant temp, cough and runny nose. Me and my DM have had new sore throats with coughs.

Our area is riddled with the delta variant so we all took a PCR and have isolated together. Had our tests at 11:30 and I'm doing the anxious wait.

Ideally we have colds, I'm heavily pregnant and seem to pick up everything and anything lately. DS's nursery is a breeding ground for all kinds of germs and DM is extremely clinically vulnerable although she is fully vaccinated.

Did you wait long for your results?

28 hrs and counting. Party in full swing without us.

BadgerFace · 27/06/2021 15:26

Watching with interest as I went for a walk through PCR this morning after a positive lateral flow test…

juliainthedeepwater · 27/06/2021 15:55

We did two PCR tests last week and both were back within about 12 hours. I was so impressed, especially as we're in an extremely high covid rate area. Good luck!

ListenLinda · 27/06/2021 15:57

26 and 37 hours for me and DS this week.

KeepingOnKeepingUp · 27/06/2021 16:11

Surge test at the start of the week- less than 24 hours
Test for symptoms at the end of the week - 30 hours
All negative

EmmaStone · 27/06/2021 16:26

Tested DS Wednesday lunchtime at a drive through. At 48 hours with no news I called 119, the test hadn't been registered. I did it over the phone and got (negative) result within seconds of hanging up. Worth chasing if you don't hear quickly.

Orangedaisy · 27/06/2021 16:29

@EmmaStone I’ll be gutted if that’s happened to us. Such a pain to be waiting still (appreciate there are far worse things etc). 29.5hrs and waiting.

Orangedaisy · 27/06/2021 16:31

Typically when we did the other dc a few weeks back for a temperature it came back in less than 12 hrs - that day we wouldn’t have missed anything for the waiting.

shakeitoffshakeacocktail · 27/06/2021 16:53

Who picks up the postal ones? Normal postman or specialist?? Worried my mum has done her postal one wrong. I am positive (drive through) test back in 26 hours north west

Orangedaisy · 27/06/2021 17:20

Negative. 30hrs.

frozendaisy · 28/06/2021 07:16

Negative, 13 hours

ELCSPlease · 28/06/2021 07:24

Took DD for a test yesterday morning at 9.30 and nothing yet!

Hoping the results come through in the next couple of hours 🤞🏻

ladygindiva · 28/06/2021 07:27

Posted an at home test yesterday afternoon for 330 pm postal collection
Result texted to me at approx 630 am this morning
I'm really impressed!

Thelm · 28/06/2021 12:18

Posted two pcr postal tests yesterday for a 3.30pm collection. I have just had one result back (negative). I am still waiting for mine.

psychomath · 28/06/2021 12:34

Still waiting for results from a postal one 45 hours after the collection time. Had three others since September and they all came back within 28 hours or less - they were from walk through centres though so not sure if that makes a difference.

Thelm · 28/06/2021 13:15

Both results now back - both negative. That’s about a 22 hour turnaround.

sqirrelfriends · 28/06/2021 13:16

About 20 hours here in the SE. Both negative thankfully.

Jins · 28/06/2021 13:18

14 hours from a test at 6pm yesterday

Surge testing area

BadgerFace · 28/06/2021 16:12

I was tested at 10am yesterday and had an email at 6am this morning. Positive sadly!
