Anyone have any experience with their baby getting covid?

Has anyone’s baby or approx one year old caught covid? How bad was it for them? I know a few breast fed babies that tested positive after getting it from their mums and the antibodies in the breast milk helped them, however does anyone have a baby who isn’t breast fed and caught it?

Following.. DD is 10 months and due to start nursery next month (just as the 3rd wave is likely to hit).

A friend's baby caught it last Christmas.. she was around 6 months I think). Her temp went very high and they were debating to take her in to hospital but it came down and she's fine now Smile

My baby caught it end of last year when she was 5 months old. Husband is a doctor who caught it at work and passed it onto her. She was absolutely fine! A bit of mild coughing which was enough for us to test her but she wasn’t upset with it. If we hadn’t been in a pandemic I wouldn’t have given the cough she had a second thought and she’s fine now!

She was formula fed by then by the way so definitely didn’t come from breastfeeding

I had it when my DD was 10 months old. She was by my side the whole time and either didn't catch it or was asymptomatic. Her brother and my DP also had it so we had a house full so can't see how she could have avoided it. Really wish i had tested her now

My then 9 month old had it in December along with me. She’s been formula fed since birth but I did combi feed in the first 4 weeks.

It was like a heavy cold for 1 to 2 days & then right as rain.

My DD probably had it when she was 5 months old. 8yr old caught it from school - confirmed with positive PCR. He had vague symptoms & was lethargic for a few days. Baby was miserable and clingy at the same time. I didn't want to subject her to a test for no benefit to anyone but I strongly suspect she had covid too. It was really not too bad for her really

Not a baby but my three year old caught Covid from nursery in December. He was almost completely symptomless apart from feeling sick for a day, we only got him tested because he had been in contact with a positive case.

A baby in my daughters nursery group caught it around the same time, they were about 12 months old at the time. None of the other babies caught it but the positive one did end up quite poorly and in hospital. She's fine now though.

Thanks all for your replies. I’ve got 3 primary aged kids with half their school bubbles closed and over 25 staff either positive or isolating. I’ve accepted that soon my 2 boys will catch it, but I have a baby at home who has just turned a year old and I’m ever so worried for her. I’m just praying if she gets it then it’s a mild case as it has been for so many here.

Meant to write 2 primary kids not 3!
