Anyone had covid twice or more?

What are the chances? My son (20 in uni) had covid once (confirmed with a positive test - barely any symptoms), suspected covid once (flu like symptoms but before testing available so who knows), and now has developed a cough after being in close contact with a friend whose just tested positive. He had his first jab a few weeks ago. Meant to be coming home from uni this weekend! Anyone had it confirmed 2 or more times? Is this possible/likely? He’s currently waiting test result and a call from test and trace

Not impossible. I’ve had it twice (asymptomatic at some stage last year, was found to have antibodies early autumn, then symptomatic and very unwell over Christmas with pos PCR). I’m double vaccinated since March, and have done PCR and multiple LFT over last week as have a cough and sore throat, also had headache. All negative, and think it would be really unlikely if I got it but a lot of unknowns

I know at least a dozen people who are confirmed as having had it twice

It's definitely possible but definitely impossible to quantify how likely it is to be the case here.

Nothing anyone can do but wait for the result, frustrating all round but nothing that has happened to anyone else has any effect on whether your son has covid.

Thanks all, it’s funny at first everyone assumed if you’d had it you couldn’t get it again, crazy to think you can get it 2 or 3 times even after a jab. Oh well fingers crossed!

I had it in December (no real symptoms except really bad stomach pains one night - only tested bc contact with positive case).

And I have it again right now. Woke up one morning with a cough which was gone by the afternoon, next day felt a bit achey and been fine since. Isolation ends on Sunday.

I am in an area where this Delta Plus (which apparently evades immunity) is going around though, so who knows.

One of my clients had it twice. Once really poorly and second time mild.

My son has had it twice. First time in October he had mild symptoms headaches, tired. Again recently this time we only knew because we are LTF testing frequently, no symptoms at all. He wouldn't have even had a test if it wasn't for the LTF.

Yes I've had it twice. Quite badly in March 2020, again in December.
