All I keep seeing is that it is expected late this afternoon/early evening.

IsabellesMissingSock · 24/06/2021 15:29

Soon I hope, I want to book something!

Franklin12 · 24/06/2021 15:32

Me too.... they have kept it a great secret. Maderia and Malta seem like shoo in's but our insurance doesnt cover us unless the country goes GREEN.

I don’t know why they’re not stating a time, it’s so annoying x

IsabellesMissingSock · 24/06/2021 15:40

I have heard rumours of the Balearics too.

Jabbinell · 24/06/2021 15:49

Its pathetic how they don’t say when we will hear.

IChatShit · 24/06/2021 15:52

None of the places we want to go! Only Cyprus will do Grin

ceeveebee · 24/06/2021 15:56

I only hope that Angela Merkel doesn’t get her way otherwise we will all have to quarantine on arrival in EU countries…

FYI hunt around for insurance options if that’s your only qualm - we managed to get travel insurance despite guidelines last year. They exist!
Dogoodfeelgood · 24/06/2021 15:56

And not that expensive either - maybe £60 each for 2 weeks.

Franklin12 · 24/06/2021 15:58

I think they just dont want us to travel. All of this will be beyond most people, this test, that test, traffic lights etc and I do wonder now whether they just want us to stay in the UK (with the crap weather) and comedy prices.

Cornwall dont really want anyone to come but will allow it for £££.

I really do need a change of scenery and of course its not essential but I feel desperately for people who havent seen their families for 18 months-2 years.

And dont get me started on the football, the VIP's coming in and not having to quarantine and the boozing. Why is this OK and other things arent??

Yes there are insurance options for amber places.

Franklin12 · 24/06/2021 16:02

Sadly my DH has cancer and whilst its surpressed at present we have had to go to a specialist for insurance. I called them and they said Green List countries only. I know of BattleFace. We used them last year..

I hope you can get some insurance and go away. I used battleface last year, sorry to hear they are no good for you.

Still no announcement! They will probably just post it on Twitter at 11.23 pm 🤨

newnortherner111 · 24/06/2021 17:38

Whatever time they say it will be late. The only time Mr Johnson is ever on time is for his own wedding. Height of rudeness, even disrupted Strictly once.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 24/06/2021 20:06

So the balearic islands have been added to the green list. But greek islands which are highly vaccinated and haven't seen a covid case in ages remain amber. So I've to move my trip. Again.

I am just sat here in tears. I know its self indulgent but this is a nightmare.

newnortherner111 · 24/06/2021 20:09

Mr Cameron was known to holiday in Ibiza. Which of course is a 100% coincidence as to why it has been added to the green list and no Greek islands.

Kate3150 · 24/06/2021 20:12

Malta is the only country that has been listed as “green”. The others like Balearics are on the “green watchlist” meaning they could switch back to amber anytime.
Not a great announcement really?

Yes that's right. What I don't understand is whether that means you need to treat the green watch list places as amber and book all the amber tests before you go, or treat them as green and not book the amber tests?! 🤯
Kate3150 · 24/06/2021 20:55

I’m GUESSING you treat them as green on the understanding they could change to amber at any point. Don’t think they’re wanting anyone to have a relaxing holiday!
