Covid restrictions outdoor gatherings

In England rules on gatherings are limited to 30 outside.

Would you go ahead with an outdoor party with 40 people attending ? Or would you comply?

I think is up to 60,000 if you are going to Wembley Grin. 40 people and many of us vaccinated then I probably would.

ColettesEarrings · 24/06/2021 11:07

Outdoors with many adults double vaxxed, yes I would.

Mrgrinch · 24/06/2021 11:11

A few months ago I'd have said no way and called you selfish for even considering it.

Now I would say as long as you make everyone invited aware of it and allow them to make their own decision, then go for it. The football games have largely changed my mind because I think they were a piss take.

Where will it be and how likely is it that someone would report you?

daffodil10 · 24/06/2021 11:20

It is outside in a private garden in a rural location with no properties overlooking. Everyone is double vaccinated and all have been given the choice to attend.

There is no music or dancing just drinks and food.

I was in Trafalgar Square yesterday. It was empty of course, however the set up for people to gather watching the euro match (complete with a row of toilets) sends a very clear message that ‘the rules’ are an absolute nonesense

Apparently the outdoor spread of Covid governed by whether or not the event involves top flight football. If it does then many thousand people are OK to gather outdoors. So if you can wheel out a couple of premiership footballers then you'll be fine, they will protect you from the virus. Can you tell that I am sick of all the hypocrisy over this?! Crack on at this point I say.

No, but I have a CEV adult son who I'd love to visit.

What's that got to do with anything?

This ^^ Also 2500 VIPs, many from countries with higher levels of Covid than us, who are not required to quarantine. Of course we would be required to quarantine if we returned from a country whose cases are lower than ours. It's beyond ridiculous now.
