I’ve just watched the Covid update and haven’t felt this talked down to for a long time. That Nicky woman wasn’t much better. What a load of patronising, stereotypical crap. Apparently we all just need some Dunkirk spirit. Hmm

On this occasion (unlike WW2 obviously), I'd prefer the Germans took over.

Angela Merkel's pandemic border control approach, for example. Very sensible. Restricting entry from high risk countries like the UK.

Germany has a scientist in charge. We have a bunch of unfunny clowns.

He barely knows what he is talking about.

They are so under pressure to vaccinate as many people as possible but with this Delta variant, the difference between the two vaccines efficacy seems to be swept under the carpet.

If they are honestly trying to stop spread of Covid then I cannot see that a vaccine with 60% efficacy compared to one with 88% efficacy is a good idea.

Just as well then that the main vaccines we are using in the UK are around 96% (Pfizer) and 92% (AZ) effective against hospital admission with the Delta variant, after 2 doses.

Yes, I have seen those figures being mentioned but seeing as people can have symptomatic Covid without being in hospital, the relevant figures for stopping spread are 60% and 88%
