For anyone who's just tested positive

Just thought I would start for thread for anyone who has just tested positive & we can help each other through it....
My son tested positive on Sunday then yesterday I started to feel congested & scratchy throat so I tested on lateral flow & it came back positive, going to send off a PCR.
Today I had a temperature this morning, headache & pressure in the head.

Oh & a burning feeling in top of nose like my sinuses is on fire!!

Poor you OP. Have you been vaccinated yet?

I hope you get over it soon. I haven’t had Covid but a few family members have.

Thank you, no not been vaccinated yet. I am scared not going to lie I've been scared about it right from the beginning.

For some reason it feels unlucky to get it now when it’s been around for so long!

Hopefully it won’t drag on and on for you and your family.
I’m sure lots of people feel scared when they test positive,I would too. Statistically you’ll be fine FlowersBrew

Hi, I tested positive with PCR on Monday after a positive LFT. However, I started with a dreadful headache on Sunday. The headache was so bad, in my nose, behind eyes and in my top jaw. Temperature started Monday afternoon along with sore throat. Tuesday saw muscle aches and I lost my sense of smell and taste. Yesterday I woke without a temperature so that was great. Since then I’ve just been foggy, dizzy if I walk to the bathroom and so, so tired. I miss tasting my food, too!

@LillethCrane I could if wrote this! I have very bad sinus pain & top of my nose burns when I breath! I have a headache. Keep going hot & cold. My throat feels scratchy but not got a cough yet! Good luck to you too! X

It was my son who had it first, he started off with like a cold then tested positive & I think it was inevitable that I was going to get it as I was looking after him & I couldn't banish him to his room he's only 10. I've now lost my taste & smell completely

I’m so dizzy today. I’m just sitting in bed but the room is spinning, not pleasant…

My dds came back positive too so that’s us isolating for longer.

@LillethCrane oh no 😞 yes I've had to isolate longer too as I was originally isolating as DS was positive so then I had to add another 10 days when I tested positive. My husband & toddler seem to be ok!
I've just got a bad headache & now it feels like I have a cough brewing. I've also felt dizzy from the start only when I stand up though.

@Tippexy I'm not vaccinated & don't intend to get it just yet.

My ds 12 is the same, given him a decongestant which seems to helped if you have any. Get well soon

I still have a dull headache all day and feel really tired. Otherwise I’m fine! My smell and taste is back. How are you?

@Roch91 and @LillethCrane how are you both now? I am suffering with covid (day 6) and have the burning nose/sinus/ no taste thing too 😥.

Can I just check that it completely resolved for you? It will make me feel much better 😂

Hi, sorry to hear you are feeling rough. I’m completely fine now in regards to taste, smell, headache etc however I get tired very easily still- I’m ready for bed by 8pm most nights! I’m not sure if that’s a consequence of Covid, or if I’m just run down in general.

I tested positive about 2 weeks ago after DC brought it back from school.
4/6 of us got it in the end, luckily the 2 of us that are more vulnerable were double jabbed a while ago.

None of the kids had symptoms really, I've had them all and despite my 10 days being up, I'm still testing positive and can't go back to work until I've had a negative test. I had an ok day yesterday but today have woken up with a junky, tight chest and cough again.

Wow @Goshitstricky ☹️ sorry to hear that. I think I'm on the same trajectory as you- have had it all, and now still waking up feeling like death each morning. I'm surprised that you need a negative test before going back? I thought the general rule was- self isolate for 10 days from test or symptoms starting- if you still feel symptomatic at the end of 10 days (I.e temp), wait till they subside before returning.

Have you got your smell/taste back yet?

Yes I think the policy is questionable and one that they'll soon change once they realise it could mean me being out for months!

No smell or taste return yet which is depressing, I'm finding myself having to force in one meal a day because I have no desire for food. I've had the dill headache for the past week too.

I'm thoroughly fed up of it all, I want to be back at work and in my carefully planned routine.
