Tying myself in knots over wedding

My cousin and lifelong friend are getting married, all going well, in November. They are based in London and I am 'oop North' relevant because I would be leaving my children (2&4) overnight for the first time.

So I'm anxious because of this and generally travelling. I am double vaccinated but have a condition that meant I was on the shielding list. I am trying to put that to one side and hoping 'things will be different' but the closer we get I'm starting to doubt how different it will actually be.

Not to drip feed I am definitely anxious in general but so want to see my cousin married.

I know no one can have a magic answer for me but it would be really helpful to hear what others think as I don't trust my judgement. My dh thinks it will be fine.

Thanks for reading of you got this far

I think it’ll be fine, but only you can decide that really. It would be good to see what things are like nearer the time with covid, and if necessary find out what precautions your cousin will be taking if needed.

My friend is getting married in a few weeks and has told everyone to take a lateral flow test the day before for example. Xxx

Thanks for replying @Cafeaulait27 I want it to be fine I really do. I want to be looking forward to the celebration and I'm just so disappointed to be feeling this way as it was a case of 'surely life will be back to more normal by then'

I think I need to try and stop thinking about it and judge closer to the time.
