School not having induction days at secondary?!

Apparently the head teachers of a few of the local primary are saying they are not comfortable with sending year 6 upto secondary for two induction days. Is this what it has became?! The poor kids will have absolutely no idea what to expect come September, most of them haven’t even stepped foot into the school to look around.

It’s so sad and my Ds (autism) has not stopped worrying about it since his teacher told his class last week!

@yeahdarling it isn't passive aggressive, it's an honest assessment of the situation as I see it. But I am sorry you have had a horrific year.

DD's transition days (2.5 days) haven't been cancelled yet, but I expect they will be this week. I think the half day may still go ahead as it's 15 children with additional needs that have been invited. I hope it does go ahead as she has physical health needs and doesn't yet know who/where she can get help which is making her anxiety very much worse.

To be fair to the school though, they have invited all the incoming year 7's to attend a 3rd party transition course in august, which the school are now paying for. There won't be any focus on her additional needs in that week (hence I'm hoping the half day still happens), but I am glad she will have an opportunity to be with her new peers before starting in September.
