Have the schools got masks back in class. Just curious.
Not much where we are yet but wondering if I should ask schools if they will bring them back if local numbers start to increase.

Lancashire never stopped having masks. The council issued a directive late on the Friday (possible even over the weekend) before masks were due to end.

We brought masks back this week but now too late as have had to close the whole school for 10 days (secondary)

It’s the worst it’s been since the start Sad

Yes, we never left off with them. Very glad as it's kept the kids in school. Only close contacts need isolate.

MrsHamlet · 17/06/2021 21:15

We are restarting masks tomorrow.

Flowerfairy2020 · 17/06/2021 21:25

Secondary schools in Cheshire have reinstated masks in the last couple of weeks.

DoThePropeller · 17/06/2021 21:29

Yes masks first week back after half term, two years working from home due to many cases.

kim100 · 17/06/2021 21:39

My kids have never stopped wearing a mask

cheninblanc · 17/06/2021 21:41

Our high school only has 2 years in. Both my daughters stuck at home. Masks should be on its ridiculous

boomwhacker · 17/06/2021 21:44

We've never got rid of them. It's so hard at the moment teaching in the heat with a mask on. Absolutely exhausting.

Thehogfatherstolemycurry · 17/06/2021 21:46

In corridors and moving around here but not in class rooms.

mum2jakie · 17/06/2021 21:46

Yes masks back the last couple of weeks. Shame my kids already bought Delta Covid home with them from school over half term! Mind you, have absolutely no belief in the preventative power of masks anyway...

happytoday73 · 17/06/2021 21:47

Some areas of G Manchester reinstated after half term.. My school never stopped... Still cases rising

Schoolchoicesucks · 17/06/2021 21:48

In London, not a borough that has been flagged as having loads of cases, but reintroduced masks after half term following a cluster of cases in one year group (who ended up online learning again this week).

deeplybaffled · 17/06/2021 22:17

Merseyside is reintroducing in some schools. Not sure if it is all of them though.

AppleDumplin · 17/06/2021 22:21

I'm in the north west, we have 'enhanced measures' in place like pop up vaccination clinics and guidance not to travel put of area if poss.

Kids are back in masks inside school buildings and all night school pupils have been asked to take PCR tests this week.

Wakemeuuuup · 17/06/2021 22:22

My kids school never stopped wearing them

AppleDumplin · 17/06/2021 22:22

Night school? High school!

Flossie44 · 18/06/2021 23:56

Cornwall and no masks being worn despite cases rocketing

Squidlydoo · 19/06/2021 07:16

We have no masks and rapidly rising cases. Some schools have decided to reintroduce masks - others are just waiting for government direction.

psychomath · 19/06/2021 07:22

My school relaxed the rules a few weeks back to make them optional in classrooms (still compulsory in corridors). From Monday we're going back to having them in classrooms too. Not sure whether that's a school or LA decision though.

TheDrsDocMartens · 19/06/2021 08:06

Ours never stopped and all secondary kids now getting PCR tests ASAP

starfish4 · 19/06/2021 08:08

My friend the secondary where she works has stepped under measures again. Seems to be affecting junior and infant schools around here though.

sadperson16 · 19/06/2021 08:12

Do they make any difference?
I think they are a complete waste of time.

MrsHamlet · 19/06/2021 08:14

We had no cases from March until half term. Masks were dropped at half term. We now have several cases and a year group out.
