Pfizer second jab

BooksChocolateAndSleep · 16/06/2021 23:03

Feel very stupid posting this but as a disclaimer I have quite bad health anxiety. I'm having my second Pfizer jab on Saturday and even though I've been so desperate to be fully vaccinated I'm so so nervous.

Just wondering if anyone who was fine after the first was unwell or had side effects after the second?

Not sure what to expect.. I'm 42 if that makes any difference.

Husband not helping by telling me it's well known that Pfizer people are u well after the second jab rather than the first 🙄

Oh and parents and sister all fine after both doses of Pfizer. No side effects at all.

Pinkywoo · 17/06/2021 09:17

I was fine after the first dose (I'm 40) and after the second was a bit tired and the glands under my arm were swollen on the side I had the jab, but it only lasted a day or two. Also after the second my period was a week late.

Mandalay246 · 17/06/2021 10:48

I've had both Pfizer jabs, three weeks apart, and other than a sore arm I was fine.

Crunchymum · 17/06/2021 12:10

Had my second on Monday and have been fine. Not even a dead arm this time (was my only real side effect first time)

I did notice my gums were a bit sore Tuesday. My gums always flare if I'm rundown or fighting something etc but I'm fine now.

CimCardashian · 17/06/2021 13:17

I had no symptoms with either Pfizer, just a sore
arm with the 2nd one.

Mrsorganmorgan · 17/06/2021 13:17

I am a lot older than you. I have had both my Pfizer vaccinations and had no bad side effects. Husband had the AstraZenica vaccines and also had no bad side effects. I know what it is like to have Health Anxiety, it is horrible. I am sure you will be fine.

sunnypeaches · 17/06/2021 13:32

Ive had both, so did DH. We were both fine. My grandparents had them and they are both over 90 and were fine. My parents were fine 60-70 years old.
I actually only know one person who was a bit unwell after pfizer. Several people i know had pretty bad side effects after moderna vaccine.
Im pretty sure its quite random though. Everyone reacts differently.

sunflowerdaisies · 17/06/2021 15:15

I had my se one Pfizer yesterday morning. Don't feel ill today but I do feel really tired. Slightly achy arm. I didn't feel tired after the first.

sunshinepunch · 17/06/2021 15:39

Have received both. Sore arm both times. Headache, fatigued and just wanted to curl up in bed all day with the second. Nothing now a few weeks later.

Puppylucky · 17/06/2021 16:20

Nothing after the first Pfizer but I was unwell after the second. Nothing major - stomach ache and an upset tummy plus feeling a bit ropey for a few days.

shewalkslikerihanna · 17/06/2021 17:51

@25yearsnhsworker

Sore arm after first jab. Absolutely nothing after second jab. If you get any side affects you will be able to deal with it
That’s very optimistic. I don’t know how you can say that when you just don’t know. I know plenty of people who have been quite unwell to very ill after it One whose had to medically retire from the job they love and another whose still sleeping 18 hours a day and lost a lot of weight from their already slim frame and 2 whose relative died within days Fb covid 19 vaccine victims and their families is full of sad cases. The wife of one of the members died in his arms upon the same day

Yes the majority of people are going to be ok, yes some people will have mild effects and then there’s the others left with life threatening conditions

I know you’re trying to be reassuring but it’s ver misleading

GreatBigBeautifulTommorow · 17/06/2021 18:50

Slightly sore arm and armpit after 2nd Pfizer
Def worth it!

faithfulbird20 · 17/06/2021 19:46

I've got sore arm, heavy head/headache, muscle cramps and body getting chills...a day later. Feel exhausted.

On the day had nausea and headache with sore arm.

Atleast it's over and done with. Just get a lot of rest when u do have it done. I wish hubby got it done another day so one of us could look after the kids.

BooksChocolateAndSleep · 19/06/2021 22:41

I'm all jabbed! Had it done at 11am and about 6pm I had a bit of a weird head, felt a bit dizzy and spaced out but laying on the sofa doing nothing helped! My arm is sore tonight but I had that last time. So so far not too bad, just hope I'm ok overnight and tomorrow 🤞 Thanks for all the replies they definitely made me feel better.

Good for you! Hope you're feeling more normal again soon. Have a virtual sticker for being brave --> Star

corahallett · 20/06/2021 07:42

Had my second Pfizer yesterday. I felt a bit spacey and wiped out for maybe 6 hours afterwards so didn't do much but fine other than that. Bit of a sore arm today but not noticeable unless I lie or lean on it. I'd mentally prepared myself for the weekend being a bit of a write off just in case I felt shit so I've been pleasantly surprised.

@shewalkslikerihanna

Has this stopped you from getting your 2nd vaccine knoweing this as now reading your post has absolutely terrified me having mine? I will be worrying about this a lot now!

@Kindnessdoesnthurt I chose to ignore that message, not what you want to read when you're already anxious.

OP posts:
Kindnessdoesnthurt · 20/06/2021 22:16

Sorry I didn't mean to highlight it, but after that I'm scrolling google for facts and figures as I am so anxious now

RickiTarr · 20/06/2021 22:17

Well done OP. Still feeling okay today?

BooksChocolateAndSleep · 20/06/2021 22:32

@RickiTarr a bit of a sore arm and tired but apart from that all good, just happy that I've had both now! Thanks for asking, it's something you feel silly worrying about once it's all done!

Anyone had sharp stabbing in their lower right abdomen?. I had mine yesterday morning and 10 minutes later the sharp pain started, it been like like on and off since.

RickiTarr · 20/06/2021 22:51

Glad to hear it @BooksChocolateAndSleep

No nothing like that @bingowashisname - have you looked it up on the NHS website? They must have a side effect list somewhere.
