He felt confident enough to order the permanent dismantling of ALL the Nightingale hospitals last summer, funny that.

And the call-up to retired medics was incredibly difficult to navigate so that never really took off, it was one of those "coincidences" that always happen to keep the lockdowns rolling. Now we have to go through this farce and go back to "it's to protect the NHS."

Today finally flipped me well and truly into the "this isnt about a virus (and maybe never was)" camp.

I feel like the mask slipped, the week before this they hob-nob with no quarantine at G7, quaffing wine in the sun, elbow bumps in public and hugs once inside, the elderly Queen herself inches from laughing faces when we've all been told breathing near granny will kill her, vaccinated or nay.

It's ridiculous.

Next it will be "vaccinate vulnerable children, get those boosters rolled out for the elderly, then we re-open everything including schools in September, double-pinkie pledge promise."

Then it'll be "Open in December, to see the year off with a roaring triumph, as everyone's had their boosters and blah blah something."

Then spring.

If there's anyone left sane by then, we all know that won't happen either.

I thought the people saying if we lockdown for "three weeks to flatten the curve" then we'll never get our freedoms back again were utterly bonkers and I never believed it for one moment that anything so obscene and absurd could happen.

Now it's not them I think are crazy, and my anger that such a vile thing could even be suggested has revolved completely 180 degrees onto the government.

Bookmark this because some of you who are sneering now will eventually feel the same. I never thought I would.

No, still don’t feel like that. I never thought it would be just three weeks, pandemics have never been over that fast.

The NHS has a backlog and we need to ensure they have the capacity to manage that with the easing of restrictions being heavily done and people still travelling, breaking what’s left of the rules, not Sd or mask wearing etc.

It's a pandemic where we as a country consistently haven't done anyway near enough early enough. Boris shows absolutely no sign of changing that. So it will drag on until we permanently increase capacity in the NHS or change our lifestyles to accommodate covid.

Other than foreign travel, there really isnt an awful lot you cant do
