Has anyone turned up at Vax site in the evening for a dose?

I phoned to try and bring my 2nd jab sooner but the guy said that they can't be less than 8 weeks apart. My first was 2nd May. The soonest I can get my second is 27th June.

I have a huge contract at work for 3 weeks From 26th June.

However I have this week off so can afford to be under the weather.

Has anyone turned up at the end of the day for a jab?

I volunteer at a vaccine centre. Every evening there are people waiting in the hope of a leftover. We finish at 8pm and there is usually a sizeable queue by 5.

For some reason they try not to draw up more than they need, which seems a shame when there are always people waiting. Most days we have fewer than 10 left and about 30-100 hopefuls waiting. One day we had 50 so a lot of people were lucky.

It's in a 'hotspot' if that makes any difference.

End of the day spares are a red herring. The PGD (prescription) that the vaccine is given under at multi Vac centres requires an 8 week gap.

An independent prescriber such as a GP is able to administer it if they agree that it is clinically necessary. Being honest, being busy at work, wouldn't usually count.

Thanks. I have moved it forward to June 27th and will just take the hit. I was completely fine with the first so fingers crossed I will be after the second one.

Getting a second dose before 8 weeks may not give you as effective protection. No job is worth that. Did you have a particularly bad reaction to the first that makes you think you'll need time off?

There will be an 8 week gap which is fine.

I run my own business and we are coming up to silly season so I was trying to avoid feeling rubbish but still having to work.
