PCR test booked and no ID

I have a Covid test booked at a walk through test site for my young daughter tomorrow and I've just realised her passport has been sent away for renewal. I have no other ID other than birth certificate. Has anyone been in this position before that can help? I'm wondering if I should take her birth certificate and all my ID and hope for the best!?

I've had quite a few pcr tests in different locations for myself and my son and have never been asked for any I'd for either of us. If you have the booking details and QR code on your phone that's all I've ever been asked for.

ID nit I'd, sorry

GrumpySausage · 13/06/2021 20:31

I don't believe you need I. D. I took my then 2 year old for a walk through test and they didn't ask for I. D for me or her.

Same when I went for my own drive through test.

This was in January so not sure if the rules have changed.

OMG, not, not nit! I give up...Grin

Frazzled2207 · 13/06/2021 20:32

same here.

Yes, only had to do this once but they didn’t ask for ID, although we were told to take it. Plenty of people don’t get passports for their children so I’m sure birth certificate would do.

starfishmummy · 13/06/2021 20:34

I'm sure there must be a way round it as not everyone has photo ID. Especially children as unless they go abroad they wont have a passport.

BlackeyedSusan · 13/06/2021 20:46

You just need your phone with the qr codes in the email they send you. Definitely take your phone as you have to ring them from your car or show them at the walk through.

Amazing thank you, had visions of being turned away at the door!

Have had far too many pcr tests and so has my child and we have never been asked for ID.

JanFebAnyMonth · 13/06/2021 21:05

I worried about this the first time I tested a child, but it’s fine. )Also there is somewhere in the NHS website that says only for over 18s)

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 13/06/2021 21:06

In April they just wanted the QR code off my phone

peanutbutterandfluff · 13/06/2021 22:00

We’ve done 5 drive through tests and never been asked for id.

cashmerekisses · 14/06/2021 11:53

Thank you everyone for your responses, as you all said it was fine and no ID required!
