Really bad whole arm/ finger/ neck pain after second AZ- anyone else?

I really suffered after my first dose but got my second on Friday anyway as I believe we should be protecting ourselves and others.
I have felt really rotten after the jab on Friday but the worst is the pain that is radiating from my neck and going all the way to my fingers. It’s constant, like a bad toothache of the arm and isn’t getting better. Painkillers don’t do a thing. Anyone else has this? If so what did you find helpful to ease the stabbing/ nagging pain?
I haven’t been able to sleep with the pain and have very limited use of my arm.

You need to get checked out ASAP.

Silkiecats · 13/06/2021 11:07

I would call 111, that doesn't sound right if you can't use your arm but I'm no medic.

Thanks for replying. I was wondering whether a nerve has been irritated? The jab itself was painless but within minutes the stabbing pains started going into my fingers

A girl in my daughters class had issues after hpv vaccine, apparently poor injection technique now physio etc etc. Not sure if similar I’d get checked out.

ChequerBoard · 13/06/2021 11:51

Call 111, radiating arm pain that severe shouldn't be ignored.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 13/06/2021 16:48

Get it checked because it might be nothing to do with the jab and those symptoms can be serious.

MRex · 13/06/2021 17:09

You need to see a GP for treatment, there is a chance it could be from poor vaccination technique. Best to call 111 in case there is out of hours in your area as they can confirm the cause and get you better drugs immediately.

(Adhesive Capsulitus is the name for frozen shoulder, just so you know what that is when you hear it.)

MRex · 13/06/2021 17:12

Eh. Adhesive Capsulitis. Would help if I spell it correctly.

Sounds just like my arm after AZ 2. Took about a week to get better and 2 weeks on I still have some discomfort if raising my arm or carrying something heavy.

Thank you everyone. Good for thought. If it still very bad tomorrow I will call 111. No way am I having any booster should they bring that in. My legs still fell like jelly. I have a headache on that side too. My body really does not like this vaccine.

Erm, call 111 today....

crimsonlake · 13/06/2021 23:42

Sounds like SIRVA, shoulder injury resulting from vaccination administration. I have had this and if you search on line you will find thousands have also. Two months later my arm is starting to feel better. You can report it via yellow card.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 13/06/2021 23:44

If you call 111 with those symptoms watch them spring into action. I seriously would get this checked out asap, you have no idea if this is jab related.

DixonD · 14/06/2021 11:31

I had similar after Pfizer but it was fine by the next day. I’d never had to take painkillers for a sore arm after a vaccination before.

Just call 111.

I talked with the local minors unit at my local hospital. The emergency nurse practitioners were confident that it was just an annoying side effect and would ease over time.
Yesterday was still pretty bad but today is a bit better so hopefully it will go away soon.
Thank you for all your help and support 🙂
