Music festivals and theatres if restrictions remain

Does anyone know if the restrictions are not relaxed on 21st June, what does that mean for music festivals outside and theatres. I have a festival booked in July and a 2 re scheduled shows in August, so hoping they all go ahead but not sure if they will if restrictions are not lifted.

Melvin Benn of Festival Republic has a 10k pilot Download Festival taking place now with tests before and after. He's started the build already for Latitude my money's on they won't be banned but they won't be encouraged either and may have a test on entry / double jab policy on entry. Most won't get cancellation insurance given the uncertainty so the one's that are plowing ahaed will be gambling on a rapid build on a wait-and-see basis. I'm on for Beautioful Days in August which has sold out.

I agree with @bollihigh, I think they’ll introduce the same measures that have been trialled really successfully at other large events so far.

The outcomes have shown that it works so surely they have to move in that way eventually.

Theatres can operate currently however some shows are choosing not to reopen until social distancing measures are dropped because they can’t make money on reduced capacity. So will very much depend on each show/producer what happens if social distancing measures remain

We are booked into Camp Bestival on 29th July. I can’t see it happening because it’s a family event so therefore vaccination won’t be possible for people attending as a whole load of kids!
Just wish we could find out ASAP so we can make alternative plans for the week off I’ve booked.

I am wondering if they are negotiating something with theatres so they can open as normal but with testing / covid certificates. Hoping anyway!

Otherwise my savings scheme with Cameron Mackintosh will continue for yet another few months !
