Unbelievably angry at my family

My sister has been told by her daughters school that she needs to get her a COVID test, my niece is very poorly with a high temperature and a terrible cough so it is understandable that the school want her to get tested.

She has ordered her a home test and they are waiting for it to be delivered. She called me today from my parents home and the call ended in a disagreement as I said she should be self isolating with my niece until they receive the results.

Turns out that she's been to have her nails done and left her daughter with my parents, then went shopping and from there met a friend for a coffee.

My parents and sister have broken rules since the beginning but this really makes me lose respect for them.

She has a partner and plenty of family to drop essentials off but she is so unbelievably selfish and my parents allow her to be.

I just feel angry, they've always had a self entitled attitude but I think this really takes it to a whole new level.

sleepwouldbenice · 10/06/2021 00:37

Surprised you had any respect for her left to lose

UpToMyElbowsInDiapers · 10/06/2021 00:38

That’s shocking. YANBU.

Aquamarine1029 · 10/06/2021 00:53

Your parents are every bit as responsible for this. They could have said no.

Blue4YOU · 10/06/2021 00:54

Oh my Christ,
Did this happen pre-vaccines and last February??

Glitterblue · 10/06/2021 08:29

No wonder it's still spreading Angry

Jowak1 · 10/06/2021 08:31

She's put her parents in danger too asking them to look after her poorly child! All for nice nails snd a coffee!! Ridiculous

Jowak1 · 10/06/2021 08:31

I would feel angry too

JingsMahBucket · 10/06/2021 08:39

Jeez. I hope she’s not in Leicester too.

Beardie03 · 10/06/2021 08:50

I'd be angry too. Very selfish behaviour

User135644 · 10/06/2021 09:04

No values some people.

Amdone123 · 10/06/2021 09:12

I'd be fuming, too. How on earth are we going to get out of this mess with idiots like this ?

Mischance · 10/06/2021 09:13

Good grief - stupid woman. It is people like her that perpetuate this misery. I would give her a kick up the pants if I were you!

iminthegarden · 10/06/2021 09:44

What tests is she ordering? If she's so keen on keeping her social life on track she should've taken child to testing centre asap and waited at home for results. What's wrong with people!

Watermelon222 · 10/06/2021 13:26

This makes me so mad but sadly doesn’t surprise me.

Anything that relies on people to be socially responsible is destined to fail, as nowadays some people are either so selfish that they don’t care or so stupid that they don’t understand the consequences.

Whoarethewho · 10/06/2021 13:32

People will do what's right for number one. Always have always will. It's why I support the more authoritarian approaches taken by China and others throughout this pandemic. Liberalism allowed the virus to travel and spread from abroad they could easily have closed the borders and removed these niche exceptions to the rules like facemasks and reasons to travel abroad. They didn't and we are where we are because of it.

sleepwouldbenice · 10/06/2021 14:10

You only need to look at all the I will do what's right for me posters to see this all the time
I am no fan of the govt but people are idiots too

Too true.
JellyBabiesFan · 10/06/2021 16:00

Has the had either vaccine?

TangoOrange · 10/06/2021 16:01

It causes friction between us because they feel as though I'm constantly judging them, which I am but I am embarrassed that they continue to break rules and put others at risk.

She's ordered a PCR home test, she didn't want to take her to a testing site.

Thank you for your replies and I wholeheartedly agree with everyone being angry, makes me want to report her.

You cannot keep the borders closed forever and a day. It would have got in and spread somehow or other. Or did you plan on cutting us off until the end of time?

Branleuse · 10/06/2021 16:06

have your parents been vaccinated?

frozendaisy · 10/06/2021 16:15

Oh the amount of self-entitlement this pandemic has brought about is depressing.

FeatheredHope · 10/06/2021 16:18

She's ordered a PCR home test, she didn't want to take her to a testing site

Why? She couldn’t be bothered to go to a test site but left her ill child with older family members and fuxked off to get her nails done go to a cafe? I would be nuclear OP. Hell, I don’t know her and I’m fuming. What the fuck is wrong with people?
