My child had thrombocytopenia and nutripenia at birth (so a while ago!)
Which vaccine should he have?
Should he have it!?
I'm reading conflicting advice...

Talk to your gp and/or consultant. Under 40s are being offered Pfizer or Moderna and not AZ precisely because of the risk benefit ratio re clots.

He should talk to a doctor. If he has no thrombocytopenia or neutropenia (low neutrophils, so not relevant) for the last 18 years I would think he would be fine, but he should check either before or when he goes for his vaccine.

I have thrombocytopenia and have all my life.
I was given Pfizer and was totally fine. My mum has the same issue and she was totally fine with Pfizer too even though her platelets are really low.
All anecdotal obviously.

I'm permanently neutropenic and had AZ, no issues except for usual side effects (flu like symptoms) and I'm 36
