PCOS & the vaccine

Has anyone had the vaccine that also has PCOS? I've read several articles saying that women with PCOS are more likely to catch covid.

I'm super anxious and paranoid about the vaccine anyways and am still on the fence about getting it, especially since it clearly messes with women's monthly cycles. But I'm curious how the vaccine reacts with women who have PCOS

I have PCOS insulin resistance. Had 2 doses of Pfizer and other than a sore arm have had no issues. I've had some strange periods but as I'm under investigation for odd bleeding it might be because of that.

I have PCOS and insulin resistance, and I also have Hashimoto’s.

I’m 44, had my second Pfizer jab April 23rd, and have been absolutely fine since then, including having two cycles that came bang on time (normal for me).

Yes, had first AZ jab in March (felt v tired for 24 hours) and having my second tomorrow. Didn’t have any affect on my period.

Thanks. Seems most have had Pfizer, which I feel more comfortable taking. I've decided to take the plunge and book. But despite living less than 5 mins down the road from a major vaccination centre I've only been able to book a slot in a town 20 mins away. I called the pharmacy before I booked and they said it would be Moderna. Has anyone had that vaccine? My anxiety will mean I research the hell out of this one, or cancel until I find a Pfizer.

I only know one person who’s had Moderna (coincidentally a friend of mine who also has PCOS!) and she seemed to be fine with it. As far as I’m aware it’s very similar technology to Pfizer though, and works in the same way.

I have PCOS and had the moderna vaccine. Tender injection site but that's it. No issues so far but only had my vaccine a week ago.

@Cafeaulait27 thanks again. Women on MN are way more helpful than the GP!

I have pcos and had my first dose of AZ. My periods got delayed by 2 months but after that they came back normal.

DD has PCOS and had AZ - she is having her 2nd dose tomorrow. She had Covid in December, and was not particularly unwell, although she has been on Metformin for 12 months, so maybe that helped.

Moderna and Pfizer work in the same way, so it’s pretty much the same vaccine x
