Travel to Spain in early July

OK, work want me to go from the UK to Spain for some meetings and I am trying to figure out what I would need to do as regards the testing and quarantine. I keep coming across conflicting information. Is there anyone confident in laying out the current guidelines? I know things may change. And I know it may be a bad idea all round

I don't understand why work isn't advising you what you need to do and gobsmacked that you have to pay for your own tests. Unless you've said you'll go to tag on some holiday at the end?

I think it is reasonable to say no. Use the reasoning that some countries have gone from amber to red, and would the company pay for 10 days in a hotel in the UK on your return. Or if the flight got cancelled, in such circumstances.

I am semi freelance and that is why work is not really supporting me in this, just 'giving me an opportunity'. I think I have to say no, for so many reasons

I really wouldn’t, but probably would if it went “green” and I could expense the tests.

As a freelance I wouldn't go early July even if Green - it can change at any point and then you're left with paying for hotel quarantine.

A compromise- if it's possible- would be to agree to go in August if it's remained Green for a number of weeks and there are no indications it would go Amber or Red.
