Grey hair/ balding after Covid- anyone else?

Talking to a hairdresser tonight who said she's seen a massive increase in women having bald patches and newly greying hair- all have had the Covid jab.

Surely this isn't a coincidence?

I too have had a huge increase in grey hair after 2nd vaccine (definitely not this bad last time I was due to have a colour).

Anyone else?

Not after my vaccine but I definitely noticed my first greys after giving birth the first time and the second time I gained a lot more! Lol

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 05/06/2021 21:26

Probably more like the impact of the stress of the last 12-14 months

orangejuicer · 05/06/2021 21:29

And people knowingly not dyeing their hair.

Possible/Likely to have been older women too?

Women with greying hair and all have had Covid jab: coincidence?

Of course not, they’ll all be in the right age group for hair to start greying!

Diggingaholeformyself · 06/06/2021 10:18

Well my greys have increased dramatically over the last year but I'm putting it down to the stress from the pandemic and not from having had Covid and both vaccines. I'm also in my 50s so it's expected Grin

I think my hair might be naturally thicker & browner after the jab, actually.

Auntienumber8 · 06/06/2021 10:35

Stress will absolutely contribute to hair thinning I had this a few years ago after a very stressful time while they were testing me for cancer , it turned out to be a minor op required and not cancerous but I had 12 weeks of various tests and not knowing and the dc were still very young. I also had some hair loss after becoming ill a few years ago. I also suffered some hair loss after a very sad bereavement. In all cases my hair recovered but it took some time.

Myalternate · 06/06/2021 10:38

My hairdresser said that she's noticed an improvement in her clients hair condition since they've had the vaccine...

My nails have definitely grown stronger.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 06/06/2021 10:45

Some people only going back to hairdressers post vaccine so if they haven't coloured hair at home they will be greyer. I and many of my friends started to go grey in our 40s, all of whom will have been vaccinated.
Interesting re bald patches but I've not heard that from my hairdresser or anyone else. Could be that people have lost hair over the last 18 months so hairdresser notices the big difference rather than a gradual one?

toodleloooo · 06/06/2021 13:35

I think if anything it's more likely to be down to the general circumstances of the last 18 months than the vaccine. I've just come through 5-6 months of hair loss and increased greying and I'm late twenties. I only had my first vaccine this week.

Bluntness100 · 06/06/2021 13:37

My hair stylist said she noticed women having less wrinkles after the jab.

Againstmachine · 06/06/2021 13:44

My hair stylist says the barber down the road is Elvis.

CrownKettle · 06/06/2021 14:07

My husband says his right testicle hangs lower than his left testicle after the jab.

giletrouge · 06/06/2021 14:08

Gosh I wonder if they're all in the same age range? You know, that range where people go grey? And have not been able to be arsed to deal with it in lockdown?
Personally I think I've eaten more cake since having the jab and I'm CONVINCED this is not a coincidence, I mean, what are the chances?
It's a jab that drives you to want cake, people!

Saucery · 06/06/2021 14:10

I KNEW it, giletrouge ! It’s not even subtle, the way They are going about it, with all the pushing of “Vaccake” everywhere you look. Shock

giletrouge · 06/06/2021 14:16

They are clearly trying to make us all fat and docile Saucery so that we don't have the energy to fight their evil plans. What a terrible thing it is, how WICKED they are making us have this vax!

princessandthebaby · 06/06/2021 19:16

Ha ha thanks for the sarcy comments, made me chuckle! Grin

Yea maybe just coincidence I suppose like you say with the older ones having the jab and greying after no hairdressers and not bothering with colouring their hair themselves.

I think because I've suddenly had a massive new grey area grow I was wondering if it was to do with the jab!

Thanks everyone Smile
