Typical, I was due to get jab number 1 last Thursday but have had to isolate for last 8 days because DS got Covid.

Now I have it and am really suffering. DS and DD breezed through it, however I have (tmi) lots of phlegm, awfully sore throat, chesty cough, temp, achy bones/body.

Tell me your best tips, what got you through?

I have ordered honey, lemons, lemsip, paracetamol, O2 sat monitor, am also looking at buying one of those disposable oxygen canisters?

I wasnt too ill after the flu like symptoms passed and I lost my taste and smell ( I had horrible aches and pains before that but none of the covid symptoms you test for). Lemsip / paracetamol constantly topped up was all I needed after that.

Watch out for that phlegmy cough @feellikepoo - that could indicate pneumonia which may need antibiotics to clear it up. Have you talked to the doctor?

Sleep and more sleep! The headache was my worst symptom so I had to take nurofen as paracetamol didn’t touch it. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Flowers

Sleep, eating, doing nothing, sleep, if you feel better then still do nothing, eating, drinks, did I say sleep.

I was in bed for 3 months with this, then another 10 months miminal activity.

Make the most of the help you have around you, it was hell as a lone parent.

@dontdillydallytoolong single parent here too, just had to get by day to day. DC had it at the same time so we were a proper plague house - couldn't even get my brother to drop us a card parcel on the doorstep! Thank goodness for takeaways!
