History of blood clots and vaccine

Getting the vaccine in a few hours and I have been unable to speak to my GP.

Can you get the vaccine with a history of possible blood clots? Online it states it’s ok but looking for people in a similar situation who have had it done. I will also ask at the centre when I attend my appointment.

I hope you managed to talk to someone. My understanding is that a history of blood clots shouldn't necessarily prevent you from having the vaccine - the blood clots caused as a reaction to the vaccine are a sort of immune response, rather than blood being too thick, as is the case with DVTs. (I'm not a doctor, though, so hopefully someone who knows more about it can clarify!)

What did the vaccine center say?

I was called early for mine (before my age group were being done) precisely because I had a history of DVT. I was surprised to receive the phone call but assume I was at more risk of another clot if I got covid and was sick enough to be bedridden or hospitalised.
