Any ideas why they aren't publishing the deaths now I know the deaths have dropped.

It's probably a bit intrusive on a daily basis whilst deaths are so low

OK, the deaths might take a day or two to get through the reporting system, but it still seems a bit too personal.

Perhaps it'll move to periodic round ups?

Harrykanesrightsock · 31/05/2021 17:48

Well I don’t know who they are, but figures are being reported. Maybe mainstream news aren’t picking them up but they are there

In the UK is it so small (still too many) that individuals could be identified?

ChocOrange1 · 31/05/2021 18:36

I know they don't publish numbers on a local level if its fewer than 3, because it can be identifying. Presumably its the same, given that there are only a very small number of deaths per day, if they also said "a male aged 85 has died" it would be quite identifying, and also upsetting for the family.

Identifying? Not really. Not in the example you gave. It's not unusual for an 85 year old male to die (although obviously always sad).

How come, if it's concerns about identifying, we had reports of the Bolton Indian variant deaths a couple of weeks ago? Fully vaccinated - just 2 deaths, and we were given the age of at least one.

I suppose, if it's younger people dying, it's more likely to be identifying. So perhaps that's what's happening.

They still are as far as I know.

People of all age groups except 0-9, 20-29, and 30-39 have died in the last two weeks.

I’m pretty sure privacy rules don’t apply once you’re Dead.

Bluntness100 · 01/06/2021 10:45

Op here is rhe nhs deaths by age group. It slightly lags behind so for example this is up to the 28 may. It’s still what you’d expect to see and I’m the over fifties, vulnerable unvaccinated.

newnortherner111 · 01/06/2021 12:07

@Ellmau I hope they would, as were any of my family even distant relatives to die of Covid I would want to find out other than by reading it in a newspaper or seeing it via the web.

TailFeatherz · 01/06/2021 12:09

Now that the numbers are so low the press aren't interested as they aren't able to scare anybody anymore
