Have you or anyone you know tested + on lft and it was a definite +?

I'm just wondering as I work in a large work place, we have routine pcr and lft every week and so far not one person has tested + on a lft test but they have on the pcr.

Also dh works in a large factory, 600+ people and they've only had 2 positive lft since when they started testing last year and the pcr they had afterwards were negative.

Both me and my DP were positive on lft and then confirmed positive on pcr in march

As was our ds

I was positive on a LFT just 24 hours after testing negative.

Someone at my sons school this week.

Also another question. My ds for school swabs the back of throat and then up the nostrils. At my work for our lft, we only swab up one nostril. Those who tested positive, did you swab throat and nostril?

I know three people who have got one or more LFT that was positive but all PCR tests were negative. Swabs in the throat and nostril for all tests.

My friend (NHS) was positive on lateral flow then positive on PCR taken next day

Throat and nose for me and DP. Nose only for DS. His positive was very strong and came up in seconds as well

X2 kids a my daughter's school. She had to self isolate. Glad the LFT stopped the spread
And a work colleagues daughter school had 20× cases all picked up by LFT when they returned day 1 of the 3rd lockdown. Our break stopped in its tracks....

Yes one at my workplace, positive LFT AND PCR

whatswithtodaytoday · 31/05/2021 00:17

My friend got a negative lft one day with very mild symptoms (tired and headache) then her husband got a positive the next day and she did another and got positive too. Confirmed by PCR.

My son (11) tested positive on LFD on Monday, confirmed by PCR tuesday. It is the first positive LFD I have seen (I am a nurse who worked in social care throughout the pandemic!). He has since tested negative on LFD.

Yes I had a definite positive on a LFT. I’m a TA and obviously we do them for school. My DS had covid back in January and I was due to go back to work after our isolation. I’d had no symptoms (and was convinced I’d already had it). I did my LFT the evening before I was due to start and it was positive, there was no mistaking it as it looked very clear. Did a PCR and that was positive too.

ClarasZoo · 31/05/2021 12:09

my son was positive on lateral flow then negative on pcr. Very faint on the lateral flow though..

BetterthanIthink · 31/05/2021 12:12

My son tested a faint positive on a Lft , took a PCR test the next day which also came back positive.

ThisMustBeMyDream · 31/05/2021 12:15

Yes. I tested positive on the first lft I ever did (NHS staff) back in Nov. Positive on PCR. Also, I know it was genuine as although initially asymptomatic, the next day I lost my sense of smell - that was my only symptom. I would never have known or noticed tbh without that test. My OH had tested positive 20 days before mine, so again, I knew it was a genuine positive and where I had got it from. We had only been out of isolation 5 days, before I did that very first lft.
