Pityriasis rosea reaction to vaccine?

I had AZ 5 weeks ago and about 10 days ago Pityriasis rosea has erupted all over my trunk.

The doctor explained that its causes aren't really known but a dermatology website said "Influenza viruses and vaccines have triggered pityriasis rosea in some cases." And I wondered if the two are connected or just coincidence.

I'm due my 2nd jab at the end of June

I was covered last weekend after pfizer. Was getting quite worried but then it began to fade. It was so itchy too

Don’t know but I was very unwell in January with Covid like symptoms - tested negative but wondered whether this was due to me not testing in the right time frame - didn’t test until day 7/8 of symptoms (for boring and over complicated reasons I won’t explain!) couldn’t believe it was negative, GP was stunned it was negative, but hey ho.
Anyway, a few days later I erupted in PR. Took ages to go - don’t know if you’re already aware but anti dandruff shampoo really helps it go - used like a shower gel a couple of times a day. I had 5 unbearable weeks of itching and then tried that out of desperation. Saw big improvements within a week and it was basically gone in less than 3.
Good luck, it’s horrible 😩

My niece came out in a rash all over after her 1st jab, drs said it was an allergic reaction to the jab and she is not allowed to have her 2nd dose. We're not sure yet if they will give her a different vaccine as her 2nd one eventually but she's not keen either way. I've googled pityriasis rosea and from the photos it looks exactly what she has, it's only just slightly beginning to feel like it clearing up and it's been about a month

@gingerninja99 do you know what the timings were between your niece receiving the jab and the rash appearing? It's been a month for me so I can't be sure that the two are connected

Not sure, a couple of weeks. It's definitely didn't come up straightaway, she had the AZ as well

Also she has thyroid problems and has sensitive skin on top but the GP and hospital were very confident it was linked to the vaccine
