Has anyone from the 8 areas subject to guidance experienced any cancellations

I know it’s just guidance and can, theoretically, be ignored for the moment, but obviously possible that plans will be cancelled by whoever you have bookings with (holidays, restaurants, days out etc). Has anyone experienced this today?

Not yet, but last summer i noticed a caravan park had a notice on its website saying that people from the named postcodes (same areas that are mentioned today ) should not attend for their holidays and they would receive a vouchers use within the year.
But i think business will be desperate for money this summer, plus the staff may be vaccinated.

Yes. Cricket matches cancelled due to one side having to come into the area, scouts probably cancelled due to similar cross border issue. Am wondering if DS will not be able to go to swimming lessons as that means going out of our restricted area. All these things could possibly be classed as education but there doesn't seem to be a definition of this in the guidance.

Am wondering what will happen to our UK holiday booked for August if this goes on. Was planning to see family too over half term.

Not yet. I’ve been in a rammed softplay all morning & had lunch in a busy cafe 🤷🏼‍♀️ I have a holiday to Wales mid-June, who knows if that’ll happen. That said, it’s booked under my in-laws address who aren’t in a hot spot postcode. So if it remains guidance, we’ll be going..

I'm not in one of those areas but today when I booked an activity I was asked what my postcode was. Which could be standard practice for that particular place, or it could be related to this latest new "guidance"

Are you serious?

They’ve just announced that everyone is to follow the national guidelines, no matter what area you’re in 🤷🏼‍♀️ So basically what has been reported is inaccurate I guess.

Source please, I’m supposed to go on holiday this weekend and in a affected area.

No cancellations but lots of confusion. I live in a hot spot and work outside of it, as do a lot of my colleagues. None of us know if we should be working from home or not. Technically we can work from home but for the last lockdown after Christmas our employer decided we were needed in the office. Not sure if they'll change their mind this time because some of the workforce are in a hotspot and others not.

I have had this email from leicester city council in the past hour. I am on their weekly newsletter mailing list so it's a proper sauce
