My 2nd AZ vaccine appointment has been cancelled...

Hello

Has this happened to anyone else?

I’ve received two text messages in the last two days asking me to make my 2nd appointment for AZ as they apparently need to get 2nd doses done as quickly as possible. I had one booked at my first appointment (which was in 20 March) - or so I thought - for the 5 June. I have just tried to rebook an earlier appointment now via the link on the text message to find no appointments available before my 2nd planned dose... so I’ve called them and they’ve also cancelled my 2nd appointment & cannot tell me when I will be able make another appointment.

This seems a little strange given how they seem so keen to get everyone vaccinated & will take me well over the 12 weeks which the lady said is just a Government guideline not a requirement.

Has anyone else had a similar issue please?

I should have added that these text messages have come from my GP

Have you tried to book on the National Booking System? Might be worth a try?

Not the same issue but I'm on AZ. I booked both through the NHS book a vaccination website, and had my first dose as booked. 2 weeks before my 2nd was due my GP surgery text me offering me to book another 2nd appointment, so I tried to see if I could get it earlier and closer, and yes I could and I did. I left the original second appointment booked for just in case there was a problem with the newer sooner appointment, but there wasn't. I got a text message cancelling my original appointment (which I was going to cancel myself as soon as I'd had my 2nd jab) which I assume was the system recognising instantly that I'd had a 2nd and didn't need the appointment.

So I think trying to get you in earlier was all in earnest, but what a pickle that you're now left without a second jab. I can only suggest keep trying, they may have cancellations.

Thanks both I shall try the National Booking System too to see if I have any luck there. The lady was lovely but said that they’re having issues with setting up clinics for some reason. I’ll keep trying Smile

I had the same, but from the link from GP texts, no appointments available. I went onto the NHS website and got an appointment for the next day at a large vaccine hub.

This happened to me. I had my first jab via my gp hub in March but booked my 2nd on the national website for Sunday 6th June. On Saturday I received a cancellation message and offered either walk in clinic on Monday 31st May or could rebook via the national site. I rebooked and had the 2nd jab this morning.

My DH had this happen to him. He received a text to say they'd cancelled his second jab as the system showed he'd already received it (he definitely hadn't) we had to rebook but for a later date.

There are loads of appointments on national booking site as I just moved mine, hope you can book one.

Just brought my DH's second forward (was right in the middle of a possible foreign holiday so glad to now have the option to have it well before travelling!). It's really good to have the option to be done sooner, and we're also close to an Indian variant hotspot so keen to get it done. There were TONNES of AZ appointments available in many many locations.

I tried to bring mine forward but ended up 3 days later (AZ, London).
