Going home to America, should I mix vaccines?

I’m American but my husband is British and we’ve lived in the U.K. for 11 years. I had the first AZ vaccine in March. I had planned to wait until America got on the green list to go there but something has come up and I need to go this week. While I am there I can easily get a Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson vaccine. I’ve read that preliminary data shows that mixing the vaccines could provide more protection. At the very least, it doesn’t seem to be unsafe. I won’t be here to get my second AZ dose and I am very tempted to get a Pfizer or Moderna jab. I’ve done a good bit of research but I’m curious what other people would do. Would you mix vaccines if you could? And if so would you get both doses?

I'm jealous! Some states have no restrictions at all. They're back to living life without doom mongers, pear clutchers, curtain twitchers, Puritans and guilt trippers. Bliss! Have some great food, go to a mall, a cinema without booking shit, a restaurant, get your nails done at a walk in place.

I’m just pointing out some practical considerations op might want to think about that’s all. When on earth did I say she shouldn’t go? Don’t think that for a second.

Az is not approved in the US so she def will not get it there. Not soon anyway.

@osbertthesyrianhamster - why the drama queen responses? It's much better to look at what people actually said before replying. OP asked what we'd do and there are other options including taking second dose of AZ first that have been suggested, whereas nobody said don't go.
