Worried about 2nd AZ vaccine

I'm due my 2nd vaccine next Tuesday and I am in two minds whether to go for it. I keep reading about the blood clots and that they are still occurring after the second dose.

My mum died at the age of 45 after a stroke and because of that I was advised to not take the contraceptive pill. I am 54 and have severe health anxiety which impacts my life on a daily basis. I am currently awaiting treatment for my anxiety.

I want to cancel my appointment and wait to see how many more cases arise after the second dose. Am I being over cautious?

@Kaylasmum49

I honestly don't know if I can. I feel like it's a certain death sentence.
But it’s not. I’ve had both doses and still very much alive! I have HA too so I do get it but it’s so good not to have the same worry about Covid any more

There are millions of people like me who have had it and are fine x

Did you decide to have it OP?
I'm also nervous about having the second AZ vaccine. I don't want it and I've spent the last couple of hours reading about mixing vaccines.

Denmark, Spain, Germany are all advising people who have had the first dose of AZ (mainly healthcare workers) to take a different vaccine for their booster/second dose.
The data re mixing is due out next month but so far (in the very small trials carried out) there haven't been any deaths from mixing vaccines.

If you decide to hold off, you might be in a better position long term as with AZ, with each additional booster given over time, it becomes less effective.
This isn't the case for the MRNA vaccines.

I cancelled because of fear of blood clots. I had severe migraines for 4 weeks after the first dose and was worried I would not know if headaches after the 2nd dose were simply migraines or something more sinister. I rebooked online after deciding to go ahead and told them at the vaccination centre that I was on week 14. They said it was fine and I had the jab. Other countries are leaving 16 weeks between doses and the trials earlier in the year showed immunity until week 16. Beyond 16 weeks may be a different matter.
