Headache 2/3 days after vaccine?

I have a pretty bad headache. Had it with varying intensity since my second dose of AZ on Monday evening. Not shifted completely. Tbf I had a lingering headache before the vaccine but it seems worse now. I seem to wake up fine but it builds up during the day. It feels like a tension headache which I do suffer from but it seems a lot worse today.

Headache is a side effect. Headache is also a concern the gov website says from day 4? But what if you have a pretty intense headache less than 4 days after vaccine? Do you need to be checked out or not?! It's been 2 nearly 3 days.

Are you taking paracetamol? I had a headache for up to a week after mine. It’s a pretty normal side effect:

Yes and ibuprofen. I can't tell if it's taking the edge off it or not. I woke up with a very slight headache and took some paracetamol and have had more since and it's worse than ever. This isn't new to me. I do get tension headaches that don't shift with paracetamol but it just feels worse than usual 😒

I think the only way to get an answer is to call your GP or 111 if you’re concerned. I hope it eases for you

Would you think that the doctors surgery or 111 is better? Dp is saying the same but don't want them to think I'm being ott as online it does say from day 4 after vaccine...

Hi OP, I'm posting because today is day 4 from when I had the AZ vaccine and I woke up with a headache so bad it was like being drilled through the eyeball. Took a paracetamol and it's more or less gone now, but interesting that it may be related to the vaccine.

Dehydration? Did you have a Hugh temperature after the vaccine? You may just need to drink plenty of water.

Is there a chance you have COVID? When I had it all I had was a headache that wouldn't shift taking painkillers and lasted 5 days.

No temperature. Haven't fell ill as in fever or aches at all. Just this blinding headache!

I've just had my second AZ vaccination. The nurse said if I were to get a headache from day 4 to upto 4 weeks post vaccination that normal painkillers doesn't get rid of, then you need to call 111

I had a headache for over a week after my first AZ vaccination. Neither paracetamol or ibuprofen touched it. Thankfully they finally eased off around 9 days post vaccination.

If we don't hear from you again, we will know what it was

I had a week of daily headaches starting about 5 or 6 days after the first COVID vaccine. I never have headaches- when I actually had COVID it was the only symptom I didnt have. Anyway, they did respond to paracetamol after a fashion and did eventually stop.
